Sigh. OP, here's why I find your OP so awful. Firstly, you're reconnecting with her after not seeing her for a year. I'm not sure how she can be "your sub", it seems to me that she's a chick you're hooking up with. But, that's probably because I have these quaint ideas about relationships. Secondly, you're looking for creative ideas about how to manage a masochist who likes it hard? That scares the shit out of me. What that says to me is that you don't have any ideas of your own. This woman is placing herself in your hands, and you.... well... I gotta say it... you appear not to know what you're doing man. My most creative idea for you (and I say this with enormous sincerity and with her health and potentially your freedom in mind) would be to cancel the date and suggest to the sub in question that she start her search for a dominant man again, and that next time she be just a little bit more discerning. Please take my advice, because each time I re-read your op I keep seeing newspaper headlines with the words "Victim" and "Perpetrator" in them.

Is she an emotional or a physical masochist? If it is emotional, just be you...I'm sure your incompetence and lack of creativity will be painful enough. If physical, take her to a munch and introduce her to a sadist that knows what the hell he is doing.

OP, I read your profile and you don't sound like a dumb or bad guy. So, why don't you calmly just ease back into things with this woman and even if she likes it "hard", if I have not seen someone in over a year, I would play it by ear. I probably would not be too thrilled if a guy I knew came to a message board to get ideas on what to do for me. I usually like to work out that out between the two of us. Ok I got confused when I saw the "thanks for nothing" part and was like wth? Thanks Kana for clearing that up.
