I had no idea what to expect when I was putting together the details of the dungeon space at the show.
I knew that I wanted people to leave the space with a better understanding of who we were, with solid leads on where they can go to learn more.
I thought of what i would have liked to have available to me when i was first starting to recognize there was a "community" out there.
What was created at the sex show this weekend was no less then magic.
The ambiance was perfect. We had 4 stations set up .. two standing two kneeling. We had a separate area with the discovery "Pleasure & Pain" airing continuously with a few chairs. In the front was the information tables. with group flyers, "what things mean" pages, Books and party information. Wands and rope. The walls were adorned with the most beautiful fetish photography. Lighting was dim but not dark and threatening.
Helping all these inanimate objects come to life was the "staff" of the dungeon. Group members from far and wide, all gathered together, playing, teaching, joking. Sharing with total strangers this most intimate aspect of their lives with such passion and honesty.
I stood proudly amongst them, Telling with our "audience" the details of their lives. Using them as the example as I described BDSM, Fetish, and Acceptance. The looks upon the faces as they watched our 'staff" interact with each other was increadible.You could actually see them taking it all in, processing it, and understanding it a bit better. Then there was those that would ask to try, or perhaps comment on how they only have done this at home and never knew there were parties they could attend.. they drank in the information about the community.. our workshops, varied groups, parties, web sites etc.
Every Dungeon "staff" member contributed in a very big way to its success. Everyone had something special to offer.. from our cute sexy door couple who gently beckoned folks in the door right to the amazing play that everyone shared thier play, thoughts, stories, with each other and total strangers.
Every person and their talents fell into place without anything other then the opportunity to share.. there was no set "task sheet" no discussion of where I thought everyone should be.. We just did what came naturally to us.. and with that. the dungeon was the brightest light in the show.. (well in my world anyways!!)
I would be honored to have the opportunity to participate in this adventure again.. to once again share my friends and our lifestyle with others.
I know what we did over this weekend benefited the community.
I know people left with a better understanding.
I know there will be a few new people that join our community as a result of our presence.
I know everyone of us there would be back in a heartbeat to once again experience the "high" received from sharing ourselves and helping others.
I also know none of this would have been possible had it not been for April from Leash Magazine http://www.leashmagazine.com . She worked hard to secure the dungeon space and trusted me to bring together our community and present what we do in a positive light. I only hope she is as thrilled with the success of the space as we all are. I know I will gladly accept the offer to organize it if she is the sponsor again in the future.
Thank you April for giving the ontario community a space to share what we are made of.
I welcome with open arms those that are joining us from the show.. please make yourselves at home, Ask any questions you wish on the message boards, relax.. we are all here for the same reason.
Thank you again to all that joined me in presenting this dungeon within the sex show. You all should be very proud of what you accomplished.. blisters and all.. Without your presence, the magic would not have occurred.
