ETA: That's right you blocked me because the drumming chimp avatar annoyed you, my bad.

Not at all. As you entered the thread I wondered why I had you on Hide. So a couple of minutes ago I did an un_Hide and then realized that it was because you had one of them avatars that are ill for my health, but that you meanwhile had changed it into an avatar that causes no ill effects in me. So it is all good.

You ought not to be that obsessed about the Bible. If it makes no sense to you, there either is no sense to it or you lack the knowledge and/or wherewithal to make sense of it. In both cases it is useless to waste your time on it.

I also deem it likely that you cannot discern between the Divine and the pagan gods, nor that you know how they relate, nor why the Divine cannot interfere at its own behest in affairs in our universe, nor that you are spiritually aware. As long as you have lacks as concerns these and other issues, you would do best to avoid these kinds of discussions.

Rule, you lack the ability to actually read what others put without twisting it.

as for pagan gods, i know an awful lot about them as i have studied them in depth for a book i am writing. in that capacity i can tell you that it is you yourself that has no idea about them other then the fantacy that is in your head. as for knowledge, if you knew anything about me at all you'd know that one thing i am obsessed with is knowledge. therefore when i choose to study a subject i make sure i know everything that i can.

the devine as you call it can not interfer in the affairs of our universe? this universe that it is supposed to have created? so therefore there are no miracles that involve god, he is not in control of this thing he created?

tosh. utter contradictory tosh.

Thank you for proving my points.

First of all...King David killed a shit load of wives, their husbands...if you want to see BDSM at its extreme....CBT doesn't even come close to what King David did (and last I checked...he sits on the "Right hand of God"...so I'm thinking some vinyl, latex and a nice little slur could go a long way to Heaven...in more ways than one).

You can go to Hell for a lot more shit than having fun.

I think you'll find that most Christian faiths believe in a trinity and that God, the son (Jesus) sits at the right hand of God, the Father.

I think King David is reduced to a celestial bellhop.

Peace and comfort,

My dad once said to Me: "If there is no God and we die, then that will be all, we will just die. But if there is a God and we die, then those who chose not to believe are in trouble. I think I'd rather be on God's side."

I think to each their own, but I just choose to live a good life and be as courteous as I can be to others, pray and have a relationship with God. The bible was written by man (especially the old test.), which is why I try to follow the new test. as closely as I can. No one is perfect.

My dad told me to behave as a decent human being, and on the off chance god does exist he would have to be a right cunt to not let you into his heaven just because you didn't worship him. Is he that shallow?

Isn't the new testament, and religion in general, pretty clear on the sacred marriage vows? Not sure how keen the big man is going to be about people who encourage married people to mess about behind their partners back...yeah I know, it's not your fault it's theirs....just saying it might be worth thinking about if heaven and hell is something to be believed

That is a biological definition, not a philosophical one.

Philosophically, I define an animal as an entity that cannot ever surmount its instinctive or conditioned behavior.

So all ye populations who circumcise their male progeny: stop doing that and you may convince me that you may be more than animals - or at least endeavour to be more than animals.

The marriage vows serve to reduce the risk of sexually transmittable diseases rampaging through populations. However: In non-circumcising populations it is imperative that the male keeps his vows - as well as a stiff upper lip when his wife is moved to be adulterous.

quote:

"But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. And early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people were coming to Him; and He sat down and began to teach them. And the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the midst, they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act. Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?" And they were saying this, testing Him, in order that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground. But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." And again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And when they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she had been, in the midst. And straightening up, Jesus said to her, "Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you? And she said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go your way. From now on sin no more." - John 8: 1-11

The gene pools of non-circumcising populations benefit from females that infrequently make love to some male whom they are not married with.

Cool, I prolly phrased it way wrong, he says something like that. That is cool though.

Since you seem to enjoy quoting Me on things I say, perhaps you can remember when I said the bolded statement above.
Is it that no one talks with you, so you feel the need to splatter a decent conversation with your useless ramblings?

I am giving a simple view on my beliefs. The question of this topic never asked me to post a dissertation or lecture. This is a forum, not a college auditorium or religious news magazine.

I don't and would not expect a length response to my question. My posts are fairly brief and half assed and I certainly don't expect more from you than I'm willing to do. That said it seems to me that using less than the number of words you've already spent complaining about my question you should be able to give me at least some rough idea as to your reasoning.

quote:

ORIGINAL: littlewonder
I didn't say I don't believe in the bible. I simply think it has been misinterpreted.

You seemed to make a somewhat stronger statement right here:
quote:

ORIGINAL: littlewonder
I am neither a christian or a Jew but I probably do come closer to to Judaism than anything else but since I don't believe every single law of both I am my own religion.

quote:

ORIGINAL: littlewonder
As for premarital sex, yes I've had premarital sex and I'm not proud of it whatsoever. I wish I had waited but we are all young and stupid at one point.

It saddens me that you feel that way. I think that premarital sex is a normal, natural, healthy human social behavior. If you're not going to believe ever single law, well this one makes my top 10 ignore list.

quote:

ORIGINAL: littlewonder
And while Master and I are not technically married, I like to think God sees us as married because we have been committed to each other for so many years within the eyes of God.

There you go, that's just the sort of rationalization to work around gods law that I'm talking about.

I wish you'd rationalize a little more though because your view on premarital sex is the sort of psychologically traumatizing concept which has been rendered obsolete by birth control, protection, paternity tests, women being allowed to have jobs and public education...

and which the OP would be better off not hearing from people.

Pascal's Wager is the second worst apologetics argument I've ever heard. Blaise was mocked by his contemporaries for it and it hasn't gotten any better with age.

Although, as I said, I am pretty sure I fucked up how it was said when I was typing it here, lol.
