In the Netherlands, testing for STD's is free for people in risk groups (youth, multiple partners etc). The diseases that are tested for are HIV, Hepatitis B, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, lymfogranuloma venerum (only when chlamydia is found in an anal swab) and trichomoniasis when indicated. Thrush is not an STD, and therefore testing for it is quite useless. In STD consults in high-risk groups, swabs are taken from the vagina, anus and throat, as they can also harbour bugs (mainly chlamydia). I have an STD test every 6 months.

i am lucky as i never had to ask Master to be tested... nor he asked me ...we are clean and fluid bound.... but if i was it would be for anything and every sdi there is ... i didnt get to be this age by having a disease... especially the ones that cant be cured... oh hell no...

Your points are well taken. I went in for a routine physical last spring. I had nobody in mind, but I did ask for STD and HIV testing. What I got back would make useless seem like a wonder drug. I'm comfortable that I'm DDF, but I would like to document it for that special lady that may come along. What do you use to clean your toys? I ask as I have been using cleaners that say they handle almost anything, but are not specifically labeled as to what they will and will not deal with. I tend to use the vibrators on only one person despite always using condoms on them. I always make the sub responsible for the cleaning by pointing out they will be used on them. I clean after each personal event and again when laying them out for the next one. My toys are individually placed in plastic bags between personal events.

I know that testing for HIV is free in the UK but I resent having to fill in questionnaires asking me if I have recently been to Africa, had sex with an African or had anal with a bisexual man. If I answer no to these questions then I'm deemed 'not high risk' and can be refused the test. So far I have been broad screened 3 times and the only time it was simple was when I got a needle stick from doing needle play. I'm friends with a guy who works specifically with HIV patients and he was saying that the home test kits are a nightmare because they give out too many false positives. I suppose its better to have a false positive than a false negative but what a nightmare reading you have HIV when actually you don't [:o]

Last time I was tested for anything was at my first prenatal appt. in August. I do know if anything ever came back bad my dear husband would be in a lot of trouble. We have been married for 20 years well long enough for any unknown pick up from our teens to show up.

I would have a partner tested for nigh everything under the sun. No creepy crawlies/death sentences for me, thanks. I have never been tested myself, as while I have some kink play under my belt, I have only had sex with one person in my lifetime.
