subspaceseven -> Who votes for this ASS???? (9/18/2012 8:54:13 AM)

Come on...are people so party line that they buy this guys thinking??? Just proves Santorum's point that people who vote conservative are not smart...

Quote GOP Rep Steven King:

KING: Are we going to defend this Constitution that we celebrated tonight, or are we going to watch it be eroded by a Commander-in-Chief who disrespects this Constitution, doesn’t believe in free enterprise, doesn’t believe in life and families. They are core values in this country that we must defend at all costs.

So now our President who has a family, is against familes and life??? As to the life comment, he cares about it more once it leaves the womb then King does

Wait, wait...

I think "lie" is a bit overstated. I'm not quite sure he ruined the healthcare system yet since most of the law has not been enacted and there are quite a few good things in Obamacare that we would like to keep. Nobody knows for sure since the law is so damn big having been written in two thousand seven hundred pages (2700 pages!) and if Pelosi would not read it then I'm sure I don't need to.

Well, it seems "obvious" that we need to fire anyone who does this poorly. We should also start with Romneycare and see what we want to do with that since Obama claims he got the idea from Romney.

The other statements are obvious truths.

I said lie, for a reason, and here you are just adding to it...again

Its YOUR JOB as an American citizen to read the Affordable Care Act from cover-to-cover and understand ALL the contents within. Didnt the Founding Fathers state that citizens should know and understand what their goverment is doing? Least it slip quickly or gradually towards a tyranny. By you not reading the bill that was passed, you become open to other people's opinions, views, and agendas. While things may sound like you could agree with them, by voting or giving support may be giving such things to persons unfit to be in power in the country's goverment.

I've read the law. Shortly after it passed. I even read the President's version (which was better). I'd have to review the document again just the familiarize myself with some of the middle to minor level points. But I'm in the extreme minority of US Citizens that have done their job and homework as the Founding Fathers demanded. You, Arturas, have come out and said 'Its to hard', 'its to complicated', 'since I am to dumb to understand, no one can understand it'. Or what ever else, lame, conservative excuse for pushing bad goverment your on this week!

As I said, the President's initial proposal was far better than the ACA of 2010. It worked financially for the country, would have made things easier for Americans to understand their health coverage and care. BUT......Republicans killed the idea as soon as possible. When the proposal came out, those conservatives with a brain and know how to use it, quickly came out with concepts that had nothing to do with the proposal. They managed to convince millions if not tens of millions of Americans from not reading it, understanding it, and maybe even agreeing 'thats the direction to go in'. At that time, if the bill passed, not only would have it been good for Americans and health care companies, it would have shown to an even greater number of independents and some conservatives, that President Obama was the right guy in the right place at the right time, so solve other more complicated and complex problems (like the economy). Republicans pounced on it, for political reasons, NOT, for decent, honest, honorable, or wise ones.

FR
I am enjoying watching the RW desperation reach new highs.

Isn't it about time you started considering why the prominent voices of elected conservatism are such idiots as Steve King and Joe Walsh? Why there wasn't a single conservative with enough brains, organization and money to beat the empty suit for the nomination to run for President in a cycle that should be very beneficial to the non incumbent?

Hillwilliam -> RE: Who votes for this ASS???? (9/18/2012 10:51:52 AM)

Fellow -> RE: Who votes for this ASS???? (9/18/2012 11:28:09 AM)

Regarding the Constitution it is not just Obama, the whole ruling elite has abandoned the Constitution. The Democrats generally consider this step as rational (the Constitution has expired), Republican establishment  pretends  hypocritically they still care. Obama just plays the game, this is he thinks he is there for. Soviet Union had one of the most democratic constitutions in the world. If somebody wanted to exercise their rights they were sent to Siberia concentration camp for a decade to think it over. So the US has a little work to do to complete the transformation. There are rumors re-education camps being prepared.

Per the Constitution... http://times247.com/articles/obama-bypasses-constitution-experts-tell-congress

Per life...post womb, pre presidency.... http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/did-obama-vote-to-deny-rights-to-infant-abortion-survivors/2012/09/07/9852895a-f87d-11e1-8398-0327ab83ab91_blog.html The story is weak, but the meaning of the legislation is to redetermine the meaning of being alive.

Per family, Marriage is no longer between a man and a woman, where Pregnancy is now a disease. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/08/05/obama-birth-control-decision-labels-pregnancy-a-disease/ and having a baby is a punishment. this combination seriously makes it difficult for families to span generations. Making pregnancy a disease makes it unlikely that your children will take care of you or inherit your business and belongings. This really narrows the definition of family and plays havoc with families surviving generations. http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/entry/family.

Lucylastic -> RE: Who votes for this ASS???? (9/18/2012 3:07:10 PM)

Of course forcing women to carry every child to term is constitutional

atursvcMaam -> RE: Who votes for this ASS???? (9/18/2012 3:47:24 PM)

That should not be a constitutional discussion. The government should not have much say in any of these areas. However, refusing to treat a baby who has drawn breath should stay defined as murder. Mothers should stay deluded enough to think that a child is a blessing, not a burden. their child, of course, being perfect.

No. the law was meant to force the closure of abortion clinics. The Illinois state house rejected it repeatedly before Obama became chair of that commitee.

RW lie, as usual. The Institute of Medicine ordered insurance to cover birth control as preventative care which is defined as
quote:

“The IOM defines preventative health services as measures – including medications, procedures, devices, tests, education and counseling – shown to improve well-being, and/or decrease the likelihood or delay the onset of a targeted disease or condition.”

from your link

So birth control could be for improving well being or to decrease or delay the onset of a disease or condition. It does not define pregnancy as a disease.

I voted for him. He isn't perfect, but certainly a step above what we've had to oppose him, now or in the past. He actually does represent his district rather well. Most here are those Gun Totin', God fearin' whatever the President called them. I get into many debates around here over social issues(I like you perves, have nothing against gay marrige and I am personally anti-abortion, though I am constitutionally pro choice), but most around here think as I do about our economy and the budget, as does Mr. King. He does make some dreadful commentary at times, but I assure you the righties think the same about your Harry Reid and a host of others.

atursvcMaam -> RE: Who votes for this ASS???? (9/19/2012 12:25:49 PM)

Really? C'mon now. You might reject these sources, but a trip to google with the same question will present a whole batch of reinforcment. I thought about entering them here, but it seems fruitless.
When one starts redefining "viable life" then one opens the door to question the viability of the baby boomers who are approaching the age of Alzheimer's, dementia, or senility as well as a variety of other potentially debilitating things.
Depending on your school of belief, we are all unlikely to survive much more than a century, so no one is truly viable.
Ridiculous, you say? People were sayint that about abortion prior to Roe V. Wade. Euthanasia is at that stage about now. It is unwise to set a precedent that under any circumstances life has no value.

And in Reponse to Ms.LucyLastic, constitutional or not that could resolve the same sex marriage issue of carrying on generations. It could potentially present the illusion and/or possibility of generation development. Put the unexpected children up for adoption to the same sex couples that don't or can't pursue IVF or some other solution. At that point it might almost be cruel and selfish to not carry a child to term.

I think it has a lot to do with adaptability.

Someone who's more willing to change their views and try new ideas will tend to fall into the category of progressive where as someone who's more inclined to stick with traditional ideas and uphold the beliefs they were raised in will tend to be a conservative.

Here's the thing, our knowledge is constantly increasing. For those who are prone to changing their views in light of new facts that's no big deal, but what about those who's views don't change easily. In order to resolve cognitive dissonance something has to give, if it's not the old ideas....well it's going to have to be the new facts.

This really puts it in a nutshell, so to speak. Seven, what you're seeing is a fundamental political extremist viewpoint: "There's us, and we're right; and there's them, and they're wrong." There is no way to reason with or reconcile with such an embittered bunker mentality, so why bother?
