Just a quick thought since its lunch time and I have yet to feed my brain - maybe she could modify her spanking style, or you could invest in some arnica cream...

Start taking zinc tablets- they help healing with bruises.

Hear hear... I love being marked, after particularly heavy scenes when my ass is black and blue i feel so high and get so proud of my stripes and bruises!

Don't have a clue how to prevent them though, sorry...

Most natural health food stores sell "Arnica" (as mentioned above), which comes in different forms. I was recommended Arnica by my accupuncturist after a nose injury, and it wored fairly well. I bought the pellets, they come in a chapstick type tube and are easy to carry around.

Arnica is also sold in a cream that can be rubbed directly on the skin. If you use them at the same time you may get rid of the marks even faster (I have had them go away in only a day and a half).
You can also take the arnica pellets before a play session when you know that you may come away with bruises. It can help prevent the bruises from forming in the first place.

Well, how about some old fashioned ice packs? So long as you don't have a problem with ice sensitivity, even a cold compress would help reduce the bruising plus there are some other ways to use any leftover ice in a scene

First off, let's look at the medical definition of a bruise. A collection of blood relased from vesels broken under the skin.

Well before you get spanked, make sure you haven't had any alcohol during the day and don't drink any for a little bit after you've been spanked.

Further more, you may want to try padding or having the items spanking you padded. Padded my mean less pain but you can still get a sting out of them. Or maybe you can try crop or soft leather crop rather than paddle.

If that dosen't help, then try a broken graphite goft shaft. It's lite yet gives a good sting and makes a good whelp sound.

To help your master not to swing so hard yet still inflict a sting on you, place plastic saran wrap on the appropriate area. The swats stings are more intensified and causes less bruising.

Other than that the other stuff that has been posted is right on the money. Hell bruising is apart of this type of life style for the most part. Sure there are some execptions but if you're gonna get spanked, whiped, and what have you, Bruising happens.

Good point. If you don't want bruises you might also want to stop taking aspirin, vit E, vit C, garlic, beta carotene, gingko biloba and any other blood thinners and vasodilators for several days before a scene and a short time after the scene, just like you would for surgery.

Pandora,
I was diagnosed yesterday with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome http://www.ednf.org/whatiseds.html Bruising easily is one of the hallmarks of this syndrome, as is healing slowly. It is a possibility that if you bruise easily, there is a reason for it and maybe not much you can do to stop it.

wooot ! arnica montana! But I prefer the gel over the cream. Learned about it from a stripper who played on my roller derby team. Stuff is the best for healing bruises. One draw back (maybe for some could be a positive for others) is that it also eases the pain so that tender-butt-can't-sit-down-without-wincing-feeling goes away faster.

you can also go to a health food/vitamin store and get pills to take, little tiny ones. Had a surgeon recommend taking them (arnica montana) prior to a procedure that usually has a lot of bruising. They recommended taking them (10 a day) 10 days prior to the surgery and for a couple of weeks after.
