Well that really depends on what kind of thing you're into. I could very well suggest places to get latex clothing but what if that's no good to you?

I think we'd need a tad more information first.

What type?

I agree, you need to provide more information as to what you are wanting to achieve before you can receive any meaningful replies.

Sound stuff,

Well guess what im asking is there any items that are particularly common for some light bondage sessions. I woundnt say id be picking up some latex items very soon. But perhaps a gag, hood, paddle that sort of thing.

Cheers

Well I'm not sure about your part of the world, I deal largely with Canada when I can, and American sites when I must. I recently came across a store called Hottbonds, they're based in New Mexico (USA) and no clue on their shipping to someplace like Ireland. But having just received my first purchase from there I can say they do some amazing work (imo).

Other then that I actually get my stuff from places around the city these days so that's not much help.

We have Dollar stores over here, where everything is a dollar. No, they are not kinky stores. Do you have something simular there? Perhaps a general store?

Those are a very good place to start. You can get rope and clothepins, for instance. At the begining of summer, ours usually have some pig paddles used for pickle ball or batting around one of those tiny kickballs on the beach. If you like light humilaiton play, or just like to laugh, a kazoo taped in as a gag, or a duck call, will have that result. Sometimes you can find a wiffle ball and run a scarf or soft rope through it to make a gag - it has a breathing hole built right in. often they have 'sleep masks' there which make dandy starter blindfolds.

Try the local used store to look for differant kinds of paddles, and maybe a belt or two. If you like the idea of silk scarfs for bonadage, look for men's ties at your used/thrift store.

The local hardware store is perv central. They have dowels that you can sand and use for caning, and they have them in all sizes. They have more rope the the general store has, they have chain, they have locks. Some people like duct tape. IF you think you would like to try it, put some baby oil in your play bag. that stuff is sticky.

Buy a little first aid kit for your play bag - or build one. Just the basics - neosporin, bandaids, 4x4 sponge gauzes, first aid tape, alcohol or alcohol pads. and, most important, some nursing siscors. The kind with blunt ends and one side flat so it will slide easily under whatever bondage you are needing to get her out of in a hurry.

Look around your house and find a nice duffel bag to keep all your toys in. Buy a small luggage lock to keep it secure from prying eyes. if you turn out to be a lover of canes, or some other long toy, may I suggest you add a zippered golf bag as a second bag, to carry things that are too long for the duffel bag?

The only things I think I would start with from the kink store are a pair of handcuffs (and I personally really, really like thumbcuffs). And those are generic enough you can get them from your local brick and morter sex store, or from a police supply site or a military surplus store. Just don't lose the key - put it on your keychain. It's embarrassing to have to call the cops to make a sex toy emergency run.

By the way, Military surplus stores often have cool things for perverthing. Insect bite kits are cool for nipple play.

Start walking around everywhere looking at things in a new light - can this be kinky? there's bunches of stuff in every type of store for which the answer is yes.

When you want some more paddles - the cooking supply store makes 'pizza paddles' to bake your pizza on, which also make dandy paddles. every college bookstore in the country carries wooden paddles, for frat houses.

Toys are everywhere.

-fast reply-

Tsatske has already given you great advice on this so I won't comment on individual items.

What I will say is this: don't spend loads of money until you have a partner to try it out with. Some fancy pieces of kit cost a fortune and it would be unfortunate if you realised the two of you weren't into that type of play.

Also - and this is just my opinion, so feel free to disregard it - I'm a bit uncomfortable with people having huge toy collections in anticipation of their next partner. First it makes me think that you're more excited by the kit than the partner - big turn off. Secondly it makes me worry that you have a very elaborate fantasy built up that the other person will have to compete with. Thirdly, I am a bit disgusted by the idea of insertable toys that someone has had for a while, I'd worried that they'd been used by someone else, and if it's been in someone else's body, it aint going in mine.

But lastly, and most importantly, picking out new toys and building up a collection together is so much fun, don't rob yourself of that with your new partner. There's a lot of exciting anticipation in 'this weekend we're going out to pick out a gag' or 'the wooden hairbrush was fun, let's choose a proper paddle'.

Thanks for the advise guys, really useful.

I started the thread just to get an idea of what sort of things people pick up over the years.
Jaquin, thanks, had a look at that site and there's plenty stuff of interest!

Tsatske, the idea of everyday items have a "kink value" hadn't occurred to me so thanks! The next trip to b and q is going to be interesting!!

AthenaSurrenders, your absolutely right in what you said there and im not planning on having a fully kitted out play room sorted for a second date!! Still. nice to have an idea of whats out there! With regard insertable toys, yes that wouldn't be pleasant at all! In response to your final point, again good work, I hadnt thought about that at all and pciking out toys together appeals to e greatly!

This is a great site, btw, with lots of instructions for simple toys you can make. She also has a 'store' on the site where she sells a few things she makes.

I always found that frugal domme was a bit simple. Great for beginners, poor for experienced crafters or experienced players.

but to re-iterate, great for beginners. it does open the mind to the dollar-store goods as previously mentioned.

edit note: and her how-to guide is 404ing me.

I am new to the lifestle myself. My new partner and I have decided to slowly build our toy chest. We have a few things so far, and half the fun is picking out items

Hi New, and welcome to Collarme.

Try a simple small Ball Gag, and maybe a Small Butt Plug. Bobby Pins work great too ! I usually put them on halfway between the Closed and Opened ends, so it isn't too much pressure on the Nipples. You don't want to damage anything.

Then they are just right for "Tormenting". For me it works better with Nylon over them too. Makes the Fingernail move more smoothly.

Nylon Rope is nice and soft, but a little expensive at times.

Like tsatske said, try looking around your home, and the Dollar Stores. You might be able to find some clothing at a Goodwill Store too. I found some nice Kinky Body Shaping Bras there.

Having fun alone, sub BalletBob

It depends on what you want to explore.

The cheap way would be like clothes pegs, wooden spoons, fly swatters including electric ones etc.

If looking to do a actual shop, a gag would be a good idea, many different types some may suit and some may not, a crop, nipple clamps, rope then thats your basics.

very easy to "start" at the $1 store: plastic paddles, clothespins, clips of various sizes, bamboo stalks, cord and twine, candles (hot wax), plastic tee ball bats, among other interesting items

Believe it or not WalMart is a great place for pervertables..........items meant for something totally different that we kinksters look at and drool all over :)

When you are ready for some more "official" toys etc.......try your local tack shop, horse sales or horse supplies online. Much cheaper then the adult stores in most cases. I've bought crops, doggin' bats, whips for a few dollars at those places.

You've got plenty of good advice from those here...........so ....................happy shopping! :)

Hi There, I know I'm a bit late to this, but I'd add: www.bondara.co.uk to the list of places to get stuff. They've got a decent range and I can vouch for the quality of some of the stuff...it's very much dependant on what you want and how much you spend but...
