Looking for a guide into how I connect to the IRC chatrooms via Icechat, any sensible assistance would be appreciated.

Not sure about ice chat, I used to use MIRC long ago, back before it became a hangout for wanna be's, hackers and thieves

The first thing you have to do is enter chat through the site and register your nick. To register a nickname, type /register <password> <email address> and replace <password> and <email address> with the password and email address you choose. You MUST use a valid email. To change your password, type /prop <yournick> ownerkey <newpassword> and replace <yournick> with your nickname and <newpassword> with the password you want to use.

This will give you the rest of the information that you need. I will include information for all the chat clients in case you ever decide to use another one.

to chat using mIRC, you need to click Options, then Servers, click Add, put Collarme in description, then chat.collarme.com in server, 6667 in ports, then put your nick password in the password box(not the long one that was on the bottom of the screen when you entered through the site, but the one you picked). , click Select then reconnect to the server. Chatzilla users, use /attach chat.collarme.com:6667/?pass=yourpasswordhere You MUST follow these instructions EXACTLY if you want to use a chat client on this server.

I believe icechat is similar to Chatzilla. If you decide you want to create a room on the server, let me know and I will give you instructions on how to register a room, the owner, personnel, room permissions etc if you need them. ( I will confess I am very comfortable with mirc on our server, I have very little experience with icechat.

If you would like me to be there when you try to set it up, let me know and I will sign onto the servers and go to the IRCop room and wait to make sure you do not have problems when you go to register your nick etc. ( I am head IRCop also )

Good luck!

I received the response to the registration of the profile name

but This web page is not available
The web page at http://chat.collarme.com:6667/(deleted the numerical string that went here) might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

So there is obviously some issue here. I also sent a similar response to you alpha as a collarme mail, and also to support on 24 September at around 10.00am my local time

no response to either to date.

That is a glitch in some of the welcome emails. I manually verified you so you can log into IRC under AberdeenMaster without having to verify that mail, I did it for you.

I registered and did just as it's instructed here to connect through mIRC and it say it's unable to connect. Any advice?
