I have been somewhat active in online/rl D/s for a bit over 8 years, and have always used the internet as an expanded telephone. By this, I mean as a way to get to meet people, as online personas can be manipulated and falsified to gain...whatever is sought.
So far, I have been able to meet at least 10 people through collarme(and many others through other d/s forums), and find that 100% of the people I met through collarme, that is...10 out of 10...are genuine, caring human beings.
I currently serve in a domestic servant role for Lady Sirona, who I chatted with in public chatrooms for awhile, met while out here for ptsd rehab (retired medic affliction), and became fast friends. While there wasn't a match for our particular tastes in sm "play", it is inconsequential. many of our other needs are met in real, tangible, and caring ways.
I have been here now 4 years. FOUR years.
We are both intelligent, open-minded and open-hearted, and fast friends, which is absolutely acceptable to both of us!
I'd encourage naysayers to simply take the steps to meet in public, be open and honest...and give of yourself as a friend. Who knows what can follow?
Just meet, and trust your intuition, not your "lists".
