Our beloved leader; Prime minister David Cameron is to appear on The Late Show with David Letterman today where it is thought this a test of whether Obama loves him or not and that based on the belief that Obama and Letterman are friends where Obama might be telling Letterman to be kind to Cameron or rip him to shreds.

What do others think of Cameron's chances ?

Is Camoron liked in the US ?

I think Cameron is foolishly trying to make hmself as popular as Boris Johnson. He, cameron, would be best served in dealing with the fall out from his obnoxious Chief Whip

To my colonial cousins, dont get all excited, a "Chief whip" is just a political appointment, althout Lucy and a few others might wish to tell me otherwise.

And possibly setting himself up for life after his current term of office as Blair and Thatcher did, but he has a habit of travelling abroad when there are things he should be attending to back home where I suspect he is hoping the Mitchell affair will blow over whilst he is gone.

But he is not a Boris Johnson where Johnson thrives on acting the idiot, Cameron hasn't got an ounce of the Johnson's charisma and charm.

I am stunned that Cameron, an Eaton and Oxbridge scholar, didnt know the meaning of Magna Carta.

It is Latin for Great Charter or Great Paper. From memory its actually called the Great Charter of civil liberties, or something similar..but in Latin, not my subject.

I think David Letterman will treat him with dignity. He'll probably make a few jokes at his expense. Hell, if Romney had gone on Letterman and sat in the chair instead of claiming Dave hated him, he'd have gotten a softball. Too late for that now though.
I think Cameron will be fine, whether people in the UK think he's deserving of it or not.

It happened.

A review can be found here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/us-news-blog/2012/sep/27/cameron-letterman-no-win-situation

""I hope I haven't been too annoying," Letterman concluded. Their parting handshake proved as awkward as the rest of it. And then, not soon enough, it was over, presumably leaving a few hundred thousand sleepy American viewers to wonder vaguely, as their eyelids drooped, exactly which Downton Abbey actor it was they'd been watching."
