stambul was once Constantenople now it's Istambul and Not Constantenople, if you got a date in Constantenople she'll be waiting in Istambul. Even Old New York was once New Amsterdam, why they changed it I can't say They must have liked it better that way. Well the Birtish changed it......New Amsterdam was a Dutch settlement, that is why you have streets like wall street ( where the 'wall' around the city was, to defend against the british) When new amsterdam became too powerfll, the 'puritans' who after leaving england and going to holland...found that the dutch were too open in allowing other religions moved to the us coast, theymade an alleageance with the british to kick the dutch out. Oh one fun fact....in the us people say cookie, and not biscuit ( as proper english should be)...they use the word cookie, becuase the mayor of new amsterdam wrote a decree stating that flower was not allowed to bake koekjes ( the dutch word for cookie) to trade with the indians......and that is why the us currency is dollar, from the old dutch oin daalder.
