Wow bound... I often feel that in many situations where an animal has done something bad, say like a dog attack or even in some cases a shark attack, I blame humans more than the animals. But to save an animal over a person is a pretty bad call in my opinion... Depends on the human I guess. -Aries

We have two, one of which is made out of about 8 mm of silk stitched and laminated beef hide and is ~50 mm wide with several heavy saddle and smaller SS rings, a lock and which is adorned with tokens (several old silver coins are among them) which the meanings are private. It took me a week to fabricate it, after I vegetable tanned the hide years ago. I vat died it to black. It has a cat license on it. The other is a heavy 18 mm silver chain with a cat license in her name on it for a professional woman cannot wear the first for business or in normal public affairs. I modified the chain with silver rings to lock it. (I actually registered her as my cat. Twice.) I obtained a set of keyed alike bronze locks also for them and locking other things. And she is required to keep a key to unlock them in emergencies. Besides the D/s meaning the personal meaning is private.

What does a Collar mean to you? Zero - zip, wont wear one - never have. I prefer full length chinchilla fur coats and a choice between a Bentley and or an Aston Martin. I like Bentleys better though. I think I look better in both of those than a collar.

Really? I'm guessing you don't watch Shark Week. Sharks don't "Attack" people for the thrill (Like MANY people do). Most of the time humans are "attacked" by sharks is because the shark mistakes a human as their normal food. Seals. Sharks don't "Attack" anything. They eat. To survive. By the logic, I'm a bad person because I eat meat. By the logic, humans are bad because we DO attach sharks. We catch them, cut off their fins, and toss them back into the ocean, still alive and bleeding. The sink to the bottom of the ocean and die a slow, painful death. I said it before and I'll say it again. If I had the option to save a cat or dog over a someone I don't know, I'll save the animal. Why? Because odds are that animal has done NOTHING in their life out of malice or spite. Animals are pure creatures.

Oside - you know I dig you, but I have a hard time when people compare collaring to Marriage. Heres why - Ive seen too many Doms throw their sub out on their ass - after YEARS together, without a dime to their name. The sub/slave was at home doing the house-chores, running household errands, being the Dom/Masters sex outlet - so where they thought that they were secure, they really wernt. In a legal binding, such as marriage - there are laws that protect you, so that you dont end up desolate - especially with community property. Unless you live in a state where common law marriage is recognized - Alabama Colorado District of Columbia Georgia (if created before 1/1/97) Idaho (if created before 1/1/96) Iowa Kansas Montana New Hampshire (for inheritance purposes only) Ohio (if created before 10/10/91) Oklahoma Pennsylvania Rhode Island South Carolina Texas Utah You are going to be in for quite a struggle trying to claim anything that you feel is rightfully yours. I said in a lot of cases I blame humans for the damage caused by animals, not the animals... Isn't that a similar sentiment to yours?... And I'm glad it's going to be you, not me, having to look into a families eyes and telling them that the reason their mum/dad/son/ daughter isn't coming home is because you didn't think he/she deserved to live when there was a much more worthy dog/cat that also needed help. Nueva/Janah, Hey if I knew all about it I wouldn't be asking people haha, but just to clarify... I didn't mean that I thought marrage and collaring were the same, I meant that for me, I look at collaring as something I wouldn't enter into lightly and I would also want to be certain that the chic I was collaring was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, I'm not going to buy a collar and put it on whatever random chics neck while I one night her, that's just not my style and while people can do that and that's just how they roll, the meanings I place on it are different, so I will use it differently. I think most will commonly agree from what I've seen so far is that a collar means something... Meaningful rather than not. -Aries

committment, loyalty, and for me.. love. i have no physical collar at this point in time, and am doubtful that will change. There are times when i wish i had something material to see or feel when i am missing him so terribly. Having a symbol of our relationship would not change things for either of us in all actuality. The relationship is what is important to us, a symbol is not. He has had my heart and soul for much longer than he realizes... i have felt that i belonged to him long before it ever happened.
