I'm from Illinois and looking at the profiles, they seem very contrived. If you are real, please post( with no smartass comments)

Well they're not all fake, and a lot of what people consider 'fake' is really just 'not what I'm looking for'.

What do you mean by contrived?

Actually, I think a lot of the people that have profiles that seemed contrived (to me) are actually people without a lot of real life experience. Because of that, most of what they put in there is unrealistic and fantasy.

Yes, there are fakes. But, generally, the "if it seems to good to be true, it usually is" rule applies, just like everywhere else in life.

What are your setting parameters set for? There are some variables that will alter the results.

click on the "check forum posts" button on their profiles and see if they've had any "real person" sort of activity.

Your profile could use some work too. Right now it's scam-bait.

"Contrived"? My profile has a brief sentence. A few dozen people from the boards who have met me will tell you that I am real. I contend that I am made entirely of lemon candyfloss and whipped cream.

Yeah your profile will probably attract more than your fair share of scammers. That's because it's focused on sex. That bit about being up for anything, anywhere? Might well put 'real' people off because it sounds a bit like a fantasy (really? anywhere? the foyer of a police station? the old folks home? a children's playground?), scammers will go for people who sound very horny.
