Honestly, I think we make way too much about the existence of a distinction between SSC and RACK. They both boil down to essentially the same thing. I personally prefer RACK because I think it's less ambiguous and that if you examine the terms, they are both synonymous. S and RA mean the same thing. Let's face it, nothing is "Safe". Tying your shoe laces can be dangerous. When safe is used in this context it's used in the context of "safe, given all the parameters" so it's the same as RA. There's a strong argument that the "Sane" in SSC is redundant, as if you're not sane you cannot consent, and you cannot effectively determine the safety (which also means understanding the risks) of an activity. So whenever I see "SSC" vs "RACK" discussions I'm inclined to think "meh". [ED to fix garbling]
