Let me say something out fucking loud you to ignorati.

Obama is half-white as well (so is that the part that we are beating up when he fucks up, or only the half-black part?)

Makes him ALL human.  Lets give up all this black shit.

He did this bad thing, or bumbling thing; he's black, inexperienced, unknowing.
He killed Osama bin Laden... no, the white seals done that.
He is spending money, that black man.

Has he done anything thats white?

Or is it that Willard is the great white hope?

Well in the US, at different points in history, race was defined by blood. During and after Reconstruction, after the emancipation of slaves after the Civil War, in the effort to restore white supremacy in the South, conservative whites began to classify anyone with "one drop" of "black blood", or known African ancestry, to be black - race was defined by whether you had black blood. I don't agree with notions of race like this, but this is historical fact. And there are many people in the US who still function with this kind of definition in their hearts. So you can choose to ignore the reality of race relations in the US, but I'm not sure that is helpful when we are trying to understand the American mentality.

Besides, I still think that someone who benefits from being in a union should not be voting for Romney. I'm not sure we are dealing with the smartest voter here. Perhaps using her as an example one way or another with respects to race and voting is not so helpful either.

I said, if someone votes for a candidate because he or she is black and no other reason, that to me is being a racist.

Would it not also be racist to vote for someone because he is NOT black and no other reason?

servantforuse -> RE: Despicable (10/10/2012 10:19:21 AM)

Yes. It would.

You've already shown that you're well beyond reasonable debate, but I just gotta ask:

How could you POSSIBLY know what each person is voting based on? Also being black is all it takes? How come black people didn't turn up in droves to support Alan Keyes? Or Jesse Jackson? Or Al Sharpton?

Sweety....84+% of voting blacks voted for Obama in 2008.

(84% of voting whites never voted for someone just because he was the white guy....and 84% of men didn't vote for the man when Geraldine Ferraro ran).

And no, I'm not going to provide links...that question is so tiresome....anyone that wants to can look it up. It's a brave new world.

You have yet to prove that is the only reason why someone voted for Obama.... over all the other black Presidential candidates in the past.

Why would he have to....I hate all these people that say "provide link/provide source".

That's just fucking lazy.

Do your own homework (I'm not referring to you Tazzy....even as we {always} disagree....vehemently.....you at least always have a source...misread, misconstrued constantly....but at least you don't just wander the desert and imagine this stuff up out of thin air).

Do your own homework.

It pays off.

Actress Stacey Dash, who has starred in everything from the 90′s hit Clueless to CSI, prompted a firestorm on Twitter after publicly endorsing Republican nominee Mitt Romney, and then standing by her opinion.

Not long after, presumed Obama supporters began insulting Dash for her opinion, saying she isn’t “black” enough, several even asking if the actress would just “kill herself.”

One man wrote: “This hurts but you a Romney lover and you slutting yourself to the white man only proves why no black man married u @REALStaceyDash.”

“#ISupportStaceyDash regardless of whether she gets a phone call form #Obama or not,” another wrote, highlighting the stark contrast between how quickly Fluke was propped up after being called a “slut” for advocating taxpayer-funded birth control, and how quickly Republican Stacey Dash was dragged through the mud for failing to support Obama in 2012

Such tolerance on display. Really.

Google the republican convention. I am sure there are plenty of clips for you to be amazed by. You need to get out more

I blame myself.

It might be useful to point out that, until 2008, in none of these elections was there a viable black candidate, ergo....the choice was for a white candidate only (not of course that facts are pertinent).

And when there was a black candidate, African Americans voted exactly the same way they had in a dozen or so previous elections.

If you want to argue that in 2008 African Americans' votes, despite their following a long-established pattern, were suddenly, magically due to the candidate's race rather than his party/positions--well, it's a free country. But don't expect anyone to take you seriously (an unlikely event in any case) without some evidence backing up your contention.

Even if a black actress said she was going to vote for Obama I wouldn't abuse her for it or say she was "too white" or anything like that.
This just goes to show how nasty those Obama supporters can be.

So wrong on so many levels.

quote:

On Twitter users tweeted, "You're an unemployed black woman endorsing @MittRomney. You're voting against yourself thrice. You poor beautiful idiot."

Personal opinion... which freedom of speech allows. I think many people are idiots for supporting Romney. It is your right to do so. Do I think they went a bit too far by commenting on her race? I wouldnt have, but I cant speak for everyone. And I dont view it as a slur in this instance.

quote:

Dash defended herself and tweeted, "My humble opinion... EVERYONE is entitled to one."

Rather a telling statement from the actress herself.

quote:

Sandra Fluke defended Dash on Twitter, saying: "So disappointed to see people attacking @REALStaceyDash for voicing her opinion. Disagree politically, but #racist attacks are unacceptable."

Could not agree more.

quote:

"We're all entitled to our own opinion," Dash told Morgan.

Yes, we are. Even to the point of saying someone is stupid for the choice they made. How often do we do it on these boards?

She is entitled to her decisions. People are entitled to discuss her decisions with her via the media or among themselves with their friends. The "kill yourself" was way over the top. Im curious to know if that person still has a twitter account.

Lookie, I think you would have more of an argument if the Republicans had fielded a black candidate and then all the black vote shifted to the GOP. Then I think you could say the black vote has gone to the candidate just because they are black (because it would be contrary to their historical voting pattern). But based on the voting pattern above there is no way to draw the conclusion that you are trying to draw.
