OwnerExtreme -> Why do people ignore mails (10/9/2012 11:06:33 PM)

It makes mad - not to say: It pisses me off - that people just ignore mails. I am here on this site because I am looking for a (female) slave. I am not a fake, I am for real and I write quite some mails to get to know sub or slave women. i add a picture and I am not offensive - I am polite and well mannered.
I absolutly understand that my liking are not for everybody, but to ignore a mail is (to me) the poorest and cheapest way to say "Thank you, but - no!"
Am I the only one who gets mad about that?

They dont answer you because they dont like you. Sorry that makes you mad.

Its pretty funny that you feel that youre entitled to anything from strangers on the internet. - also that it makes you have an emotional reaction such as getting upset by something like that. Maybe you should go and do something else that wont damage your fragile emotional state.

I'm not sure the ratio of males to females[no matter if dominant or submissive] is on CM,but most new female s types receive several pages of messages every day.So do you think anyone has the time to write each and every guy that writes them? Plus several females have written that many of the times when they respond to a message and say politely they aren't interested, they receive hate mail in return.Do I expect a response to every message I send? Not really but if I do get a no thank you,I still write back with a thank you for at least reading and responding to my message. From the way you are coming across OP,you might need to heed the words of Don Henley...Get Over It

If someone doesn't answer you in person, it's rude. Over the internet? It's not the same thing.

Do you answer every piece of mail you get at home?

You're not owed a reply to an unsolicited email. No one is.

The fact that it makes you so mad would be a huge red flag to me.

<-- PREACH IT.

If we want a polite thanks but no/thanks then we must respect it. I also appreciate those who clearly state age/etc 'deal breakers'. Listen to his advice OP or better yet, MAKE a submissive profile and see what he is talking about.

Look at it this way. While that wonderful submissive/slave/pet/etc might not be right for you, she/he is right for someone. Somewhere your submissive just might be getting bombarded with hate mail. Hopefully she will stick around long enough for you to meet her. DON'T scare off a new submissive by being an asshat.

Just one more thing....

When I first saw my wife's profile, I was hooked. I really enjoyed both her journals and her profile. I sat down and wrote her a rather long email asking her particulars about some of her interests and commenting (quite cleverly I thought) on her profile. NO RESPONSE.. nothing..

Trying to avoid asshattery I let it go. Her profile caught my eye again a few months latter and I sent another quick note. She replied and fast forward we are married. My only point is we have no idea why she didn't reply (I showed her the letter I sent and she agreed it was clever wink).. things just happen.

We have met wonderful people using this site and we have met wonderful people who sadly didn't reciprocate the feeling. Its a time thing, be glad we have the internet and can meet people outside of our normal sphere of contact. Sometimes things just don't work out... give her time and if she REALLY interests you send her a polite email asking if you could buy her a drink. It worked for me.

Best,

Michael...

so entitled

descrite -> RE: Why do people ignore mails (10/10/2012 12:39:13 AM)

eh...CM has quick-reply buttons for common letdowns ("Busy," "Involved," etc.); how hard is it to click a button? If you really are overwhelmed by all those responses to your profile, perhaps you'd best hide your profile.

Yeah, crazyml, I do answer every piece of (non-automatically-generated) mail I get at home...what kind of jagoff doesn't? Sometimes it takes me a while to get to it, but I eventually do.

I don't think OP is out of line for the general sentiment.

HOWEVER....

Grammar goes a long way. As does a moderate temperment. Just from your post, I can see why someone might be disinclined to respond.

KinksterUK -> RE: Why do people ignore mails (10/10/2012 12:43:05 AM)

Bruv

You have just go to learn to push those feelings out and away!

We as individuals control our moods. If we are angry it is because we have CHOSEN to be angry. Irritations are around us all day everyday, but it is only when we shrug them off that we can look inward to see what we can change in ourselves. No please don't think that I am sidelining your politeness! I find that my success rate is higher doing the same but not everyone is going to respond to that.

Good luck and stay frosty! ;)

To expect a complete stranger you've never met to respond to your advances stinks of an overblown sense of entitlement. They don't know him, clearly they don't want to know him, and quite possibly the mail has went straight to the bulk folder anyway

GreedyTop -> RE: Why do people ignore mails (10/10/2012 12:58:27 AM)

No response IS a response.

BoundSlave4Life -> RE: Why do people ignore mails (10/10/2012 1:10:53 AM)

Every time I see someone complaining about subs/slaves not responding to mails, this is what I have to say ---

Make an account on here as a female sub or slave. Put a random picture of a random girl on it.
Now respond to EVERY SINGLE MESSAGE you get. EVERY one. Not just some of them. ALL of them.

Let's see you complain about not getting a response after that.

pyschosubmission -> RE: Why do people ignore mails (10/10/2012 1:17:36 AM)

You know I've been wanting to do that, then share some of the best of the inbox with y'all [:D][:D]

GreedyTop -> RE: Why do people ignore mails (10/10/2012 1:19:07 AM)

it's been done, PS, but the LULz never end when it is!! NOT SAYING YOU SHOULD....

Harlan Ellison responds to all his fan mail. Piers Anthony does, too. Orson Scott Card employs someone to help him in the effort. I remember my little brother getting a signed photo from Barbara Feldon when we were kids.

No disrespect intended, but are you saying that the person whose sole accomplishments are being subby and owning a twat is someone less obliged to respond to admirers?

I think you misunderstand the meaning of the word "entitlement." Someone who thinks so little of the admiration of others, someone who expects the offers to continue pouring in, even when they are negligently rude after having invited the attention, that is the person who has a sense of entitlement.

Bound-- I said it before: just hide your profile. Your profile is an explicit (not even tacit!) invitation for communication; by failing to respond, you're basically telling men to audition for you, then ignoring their performance when they do. That's a shitty thing to do to anyone.

Another solution: include this on your profile-- "Sorry...I'm overwhelmed by messages at the moment, and I'm looking for something specific. If you're not [in the area/over 6'0"/hung like a musk ox], please don't send me a message right now." Then feel free to ignore the ones that don't meet the criteria and response anyway. At least then they'll have an idea why you ignored them. Fair?

Man...that idea is bugging me. Who has so much attention that they can spurn some more? I have replied to every message anyone has ever sent me, here, FL, Facebook, OKCupid...be they attractive, in my region, or even the wrong gender. I'm always flattered when someone has something nice to say about me, and took the time to tell me. That takes guts, to initiate that communication. I respect the hell out of anyone who does that, and respond in kind.
