No, I am taking the standard you set forth--that we need to "respect" the "different approach" to speech taken by "a completely separate nation"--and asking whether that standard still works when applied to a country other than Canada. If it doesn't, it's not much of a standard, in which case your argument honestly seems to boil down to "I like Canada, so what they do is okay."

I'm sorry, but I'm not understanding you here. Are you taking taking me to task for believing that the U.S. should be able to justify its limits on free speech? Or are you asking for the specific justifications (which are not my creations and some of which I may disagree with)?
