MaxFGood -> People Running Scams on Here? Momma Don't Hurt Me So Bad CD (10/22/2012 8:47:23 AM)

Hi. New here. Male hetero submissive. Ran across a dominant Female in my area. VERY good looking (late 20-something). Photos look real/amateur. Says she is new to the area and account appears to have been created a little less than 2 months ago. I received a reply rather quickly which is surprising as I know on most social type places like this, women are typically inundated with messages and therefore reply very selectively, especially a near perfect 10 like this one. The message instructed me to buy the CD of the soundtrack from the musical Momma Don't Hurt Me So Badly. At first I thought it was an auto-response but she has replied twice now making references to specific things that were in my message indicating whomever it is is taking the time to read and reply.

On one hand I suspect this could just be a ploy to sell some CD's - who knows how many other people she is doing this to. But then I would imagine "she" would have multiple accounts in multiple locations.

Anyone else run into or here about this? I may be a submissive but I'm not a schmuck.

That remains to be seen.   You will be contacted by people with pumpkin colored email borders.    You can quote me.

So what is the purpose of posting this ambiguous reply at all???

Wouldn't at least referencing which part of the TOS you don't want to violate would be helpful to someone new here like myself. Otherwise the reply seems sort pointless to me? I'm just trying to learn more.

Start in administrative announcements, (why we dont blacklist is a good one) work your way thru the stickies at each forum and see where you have violated TOS and so on then.

Welcome to CM

I'm not familiar w that CD.

If it's an indy type thing, then just maybe she(?) is trying to rope some suckers in as you say.

If it's a major release thing...I don't think they'd put the individual effort into making a few sales. Not worth the money they'd make. Might be worth it (probably not) for effect on the charts. But HUGE downside if discovered.

The title suggests it's at least something a Domme might like a prospect sub to experience. Could be she's making you jump through a few hoops. May test you to see if you actually did her "bidding".

As tests & conditions go, it's not a bad one.

From assorted reading, occasional curious profile perving outside my "target market" (f sub), I know that Dommes can be ballbreakers. (And not in a fun way? Even before you meet. Even if you never meet.)

It's not uncommon to get "send me $ tribute and I MAY talk with you" or "here's my amazon wish list, buy me a pretty..."

Buying a CD you get to keep. And, by the title, might actually enjoy?

Seems like small downside for even potential upside.

I'd say go for it.

= = =

mnottertail: PUMPKIN colored borders? Uh..... What?

I know admin sends with "gold colored borders". Zat what you meant? Otherwise, I'm mystified.

Welcome to the forums, OP.

I have to admit, I hadn't heard that angle yet. (Haven't heard of the CD, either, for what that's worth.) Being the cynic that I am, it's either an angle on her part or an angle on yours. If nothing else, starting the thread gets the name of the CD out there too, doesn't it?

ETA - Maybe the "pumpkin color" is referring to the cute Halloween thing they do to the CM logo on the mail page. I'm waiting on gold mail on another matter, anyway, so I might as well throw that out there, too.

Welcome to the message board Max. I hope you enjoy yourself here.
I think that, as long as she isn't directly asking you for your financial information,
and allowing you to make this purchase at a place of your choosing, it isn't really
too far on the shady side. Besides, not only is it an opportunity for further discussion
with her, (at least about the CD) but you will be supporting local artists as well!

If you haven't done so already, google that CD title. There are many sources out
there, some offering free listening, and some for as low as $6.95.
Best of luck!

You said "soundtrack from the musical". That doesn't sound like just her private-label thing (re my previous comment)

Now I'm curious. I'll have to google it later.

Lady Pact: yeah, sounds right re pumpkin. Thanks. I've never even got a gold one, much less a seaonal shade. btw, We have a friend in common on FL. One you added recently and might actually recall & read. c***x. I noticed you in her feed.

LP calls it gold bordered, it looks pumpkin colored on my computer.  I have a large collection of pumpkin papers in my cmail briefcase.

I do not have (and will not have) the CD.

OP - since the primary purpose of your post appeared to be to ask about a potential CD scam, I have moved your post out of Introductions. You are welcome to start a new thread in Intros and properly introduce yourself.

You can buy or not buy the CD, but the site's official policy is:

DO NOT SEND MONEY TO OTHER USERS FOR ANY REASON!

Do you reference musicals or music in your profile? If so, she's responding to that then. If not, it's most likely an "infomercial".
