Yachtie -> Presidential at its best (10/25/2012 10:13:46 AM)

Obama grinned. … ‘You know, kids have good instincts,’ Obama offered. ‘They look at the other guy and say, “Well, that’s a bullshitter, I can tell.”’”

On Nov. 6th the bullshit will be over.

Is that when you plan to stop posting?

Why do you think that what has been going on since 1789 is going to change?

As will (hopefully) all the diatribe.

(I'm doubtful).

Intelligent people (hopefully) continue to bring good discussion to the fore.

One of the great advantages of incumbency is that the candidate always looks Presidential, because he's already the President. He gets the seal, and the jet, and the aura of the office. They play, "Hail to the Chief," for him, and he's allowed, nay expected, to remain a bit dignified.

I think it's an indication of how frightened he must be of losing his power, that he's willing to throw away that tradition of dignity, just to keep his own base interested.

Lucylastic -> RE: Presidential at its best (10/25/2012 7:06:10 PM)

really...tradition of dignity??? with Bush 2, Clinton, Carter, Nixon etc etc, in recent history?
Maybe our definitions of dignity and tradition are worlds apart

TheHeretic -> RE: Presidential at its best (10/25/2012 7:12:48 PM)

Oh they happily let the surrogates do the dirty work, Lucy, but for the President to be personally throwing the schoolyard taunts, and dropping vulgarities to Rolling Stone? That's like school on Saturday - no class.

Well, I'm not upset, so much as disappointed, and no, it's that this is being stooped to by the man who holds the office.

It might be interesting to go back and watch that '04 DNC speech, and see just how badly short of the dream this man has fallen.

tazzygirl -> RE: Presidential at its best (10/25/2012 8:56:42 PM)

To be honest, Rich, I have seen far more than I ever expected out of him. I have openly admitted that I wished he had more of a back bone when dealing with the obstructive attitude in Congress. But I see much good that he has done as well.

Kudos to the man for calling a spade a spade....

Romeny`s use`n the word "change" a lot.......lately.

TheHeretic -> RE: Presidential at its best (10/25/2012 9:02:21 PM)

He wasn't ready, Tazzy.

tazzygirl -> RE: Presidential at its best (10/25/2012 9:03:07 PM)

Who ever is ready for that position? Come on... unless they were VP first.

DomYngBlk -> RE: Presidential at its best (10/26/2012 6:03:07 AM)

You are odd. The double standards that you support are amazing.
