Mayor Bloomberg, why oh why?

Fresh off his "climate disruption"-driven endorsement of President Obama, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has chosen to divert critical food supplies and power generators from desperate residents of Staten Island to Sunday's New York City Marathon.

A tipster, who wishes to remain anonymous, told us there were lots of workers in and out of the park today, who had "started before the storm and then came back starting yesterday." Trailers are lined up from around 71st to 66th Streets on Central Park West, a food truck was set up today, and "generators have been sitting there at least a week." The tents that were taken down prior to the storm have also been set back up, and there is a stage set up near 73rd Street.

Considering all the volunteer help and NYPD attention that's already being diverted to the Marathon, the added sight of generators and food being channeled to the event is probably going to strike some New Yorkers as a little misplaced—we're thinking of the ones who are currently lined up waiting for the National Guard to ration out MREs and bottles of water.

“Do you realize how many police officers you need for a marathon?” he asked. “There are people looting stores on Midland Avenue. There is looting taking place in the homes on the South Shore that were destroyed. That is where we need the police.”

In New York City, apparently these days the Bloomberg show must go on -- even at the expense of those truly in need.

The Marathon is sponsored by Corporations. Maybe they should divert their resources to helping those in need. But they don't have to, do they? Free Market capitalism, etc, etc.

so what does Obama have to do with this??? Bloomberg refused obama just the other day..or do I need to show you, your own post? Willard and the GOP wanted his endorsement and did not get it...WHY

“I want our president to place scientific evidence and risk management above electoral politics,” Bloomberg wrote.

If the 1994 or 2003 version of Mitt Romney were running for president, I may well have voted for him because, like so many other independents, I have found the past four years to be, in a word, disappointing,” Bloomberg wrote.

So as with most the GOP obstruction failed to win over people and the place their vote and support with Obama

He's not the subject of the article or the OP, no matter he did endorse Obama. Just FYI.

And when has that stopped you or your crew dragging him into stuff over the last few months?

Mayor Bloomberg, why oh why?

Fresh off his "climate disruption"-driven endorsement of President Obama, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has chosen to divert critical food supplies and power generators from desperate residents of Staten Island to Sunday's New York City Marathon.

Staten Island was covered completely bythe mandatory evacuation order. Why should any help go to people who ignored that order?

Okay... so now that we've seen what the delusional mourners at the never ending Breitbart wake THINK is going on from their distant vantage point with their lying "tipster" ... Or maybe as usual, they made it up. The trucks are there alright. They are leased/owned by The New York Road Runners Association, Sponsors and TV Networks. And YEP there's PRIVATE Security even. I called a friend who manages the Brooks Brothers in the 1900 block of Broadway. He says the trucks are there and basically are parked where NYPD told them they could park. He says it has nothing to do with NYC. He also guided me to this article, which he says is the closest thing to reality regarding what's going on in the big apple so far that has anything to do with the race.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/03/sports/backlash-builds-as-new-york-city-marathon-divides-city.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

On another note, the marathon is pledging like $26 bucks per starter, and runners themselves are conspiring throughout the entrant population. My childhood buddy Dan, a just retired Col. from the Natl Guard/US Army (went full army for the 8 years he spent coming and going from his cushy MetLife job to the paradise that is Iraq) has been running Marathons since our college days in the early 80s, has gotten together a bunch of soldiers from his brigade. Each guy gets their Brigade patch to wear ob their jersey in exchange for a check for $500. He says his phone won't stop ringing.. I thought you were a proud Independent Dude you should be rooting for your boy. He runs against the Democrats.
