Just out of curiosity, with rampant voter apathy, have you voted in this election? I don't care who you voted for, that is between you and your conscience. I would just like to know if you used your right to vote.

erieangel -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 2:55:31 AM)

I couldn't answer, since I'm in PA and we don't have early voting. I have to wait until Tuesday to cast my ballot. You don't have an option for those of us who will vote on Tuesday.

DomYngBlk -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 3:22:20 AM)

Fucking long line here on saturday. Was great though not a republican around.

yourdarkdesire -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 3:37:51 AM)

I know it is early erie, but with the number of Americans on the site, I thought I would get a head start! Oh, and I answered my own poll....I am Canadian.

DesideriScuri -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 4:33:35 AM)

FR,

I have a new polling place (I have a new address), so I'm waiting for tomorrow so I can go there, see it, and know where it is. Should I come back and change my answer after I vote?

DarkSteven -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 4:40:42 AM)

beerbug, just a little insight from the US. I believe that early voting has been a possibility for a while. But the Obama campaign made a push for it, and both Dems and GOP have had a sizable number of early voters this year - I think that the official figure is around 20%.

My sub and I early voted this year. I have to say that it's a lot easier to review the ballot issues online at my home and fill the ballot out at my leisure. That and the lack of a drive are worth the 65c postage. OTOH, I miss the atmosphere at the polls.

GreedyTop -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 4:42:59 AM)

voting tomorrow.

Hillwilliam -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 5:34:29 AM)

Never missed an election since I was 18.

mnottertail -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 5:41:55 AM)

Nor have I, having been alive all that time.

igor2003 -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 5:48:21 AM)

I voted last Thursday. Early voting turnout here has been higher than expected. I voted early in order to avoid the lines, but even with early voting the lines are still there. In fact, I went in to vote one day in the middle of the afternoon, but left before voting because the line was too long (I have issues with my back that makes standing in a long line nearly impossible). Went back a few days later when the doors first opened in the morning and was one of the first ones in the door, but by the time I finished there was already a line formed and more people pulling into the parking lot. Although I hate dealing with the postal service (just a personal quirk) I'll probably mail in my ballot next time.

atursvcMaam -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 7:19:43 AM)

whew, I thought I slept through the elections.

DaddySatyr -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 7:26:23 AM)

I had a little bit of a storm to contend with, here but, I'm not even sure if early voting is allowed in my state.

I don't care. I'll vote on election day. To me, as long as my vote is counted (I'm starting to dis-believe that they are, at all), I don't care when I cast it but there is something ... exhilerating, I guess about going into that voting machine, pulling the hadle, the curtain closes and I perform one of the most important duties a citizen of this country can perform.

I pray that the country makes the right decision this time.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

yourdarkdesire -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 8:26:39 AM)

I certainly understand your situation Michael. I am sure that there will be a lot of people in NY & NJ that will not be able to make their vote count. Or, maybe it will have a reverse effect.

Our last provincial election, last spring, saw a voter turnout of 57%. Thus my curiosity.

subrob1967 -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 9:16:43 AM)

Tomorrow is election day, I'll vote then.

Just remember to vote often, too, Rob

DarkSteven -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 5:24:56 PM)

Hmmm. Evidently, a lot of people here went to the polls for early voting. I just mailed it in.

This
Had surgery recently,so since I was laid up and couldn't play golf I went and voted early.
Walked, okay limped, into my local polling place and I was the only voter present.
It was great,I had help from 6 people....lol.

Fellow -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 5:44:22 PM)

I generally advocate for voting. The system is rigged but still useful. Of course, no sane person would vote for a Republican or for a Democrat; the two parties have virtually destroyed the nation.

TheHeretic -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/5/2012 9:28:34 PM)

The State of Oregon, my home for many years, has eliminated the traditional polling place, and is now entirely vote by mail. I didn't care for it. I like the ritual, and the little sticker I bring home and slap onto the 'puter tower beside me.

I'll vote in the morning, on my way to work, and a researched and premarked sample ballot will speed the process when I get into the booth.

DesideriScuri -> RE: A Poll of the Polls (11/6/2012 4:54:16 AM)

FR,

Am I supposed to recast my choice in this poll after I vote?
