Court-appointed Republican poll inspectors are being forcibly removed from voting stations in some Philadelphia wards and replaced in some cases by Democratic inspectors and even members of the Black Panthers, according to GOP officials.

These Inspectors are election officials - again, court appointed -- and are reportedly being thrown out by the Head Judges of Elections (these Judges are elected Democrats) and being replaced by Democrats.

Phil Anshutz getting the dirt, hah?  LOL.  Breitbart and Drudge got anything on this, or WND or Boortz? How'd he hit this one, and miss the Union thingie?

I mean, comon. ineptitude from the right.

You should have waited for the Judge's order. They are being replaced.

A Pennsylvania judge is issuing an order to reinstate Republican election officials across Philadelphia who allegedly were ejected or refused entry by on-site Democratic voting chief judges, GOP officials tell Fox News.

This happens every election.

Despite the high number of officials who were allegedly booted, the dispute itself is not uncommon for Philadelphia. Fred Voigt, legal counsel for the city commissioners, said these kinds of face-offs happen "with regularity" in the City of Brotherly Love.

"It happens all the time," Voigt said. He said court-appointed Republican officials typically show up on Election Day and end up squaring off against stand-in officials at the polling sites filling in the open seats. Part of the problem, he said, is that the Republican inspectors are appointed on relatively short notice, leading to a string of confrontations on Election Day.

"There are no cool heads here," Voigt said.

tazzygirl -> RE: Democrat shenanigans (11/6/2012 8:09:38 AM)

Seems to me the GOP could avoid this by choosing their people sooner.

Moonhead -> RE: Democrat shenanigans (11/6/2012 8:18:08 AM)

Yes, but then they wouldn't be able to stir up "the sky is falling!" hysteria from people like the OP or play victim yet again, would they?

DomYngBlk -> RE: Democrat shenanigans (11/6/2012 8:18:40 AM)

Imagine there aren't that many republicans in philly and not that many that want to volunteer for this.

Moonhead -> RE: Democrat shenanigans (11/6/2012 8:20:18 AM)

Maybe they could wear a cunning disguise?
Or body armour...

tazzygirl -> RE: Democrat shenanigans (11/6/2012 8:31:13 AM)

Right is right, and wrong is wrong. This was wrong.... they obviously knew this would happen as they had a Judge who was readily available and ruled quickly. Its an ongoing issue. Seems the GOP there would find a better way to correct this. People at the polling sites shouldnt be subject to this kind of bs.

PA will go to Obama regardless. For you to imply that because one city is having this issue... and its not a new issue, as you would have determined had you bothered to do some research before having a knee jerk reaction...is simply wrong.

I just find the spectacle of Republican supporters complaining about "wrong" after that thing in 2000 pathetic and hilarious.
If they don't have a problem with "wrong" when their party is doing it, they should man up and learn to take it from the other bunch as well.

MrRodgers -> RE: Democrat shenanigans (11/6/2012 11:17:17 AM)

Kinkroids, all is fair in love and war...oh, and since 2000, politics too.

Moonhead -> RE: Democrat shenanigans (11/6/2012 11:28:40 AM)

Don't tell me, tell the OP.
Hell, maybe if his own party had spent less time trying to intimidate minorities into not voting (because we know all of these non caucasians are liberal scum: just look at Herman Cain), the other bunch wouldn't be resorting to paranoid overcompensation/empowerment at their voting stations...

This has to rank among the United States election shenanigans - http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/11/linda-mcmahon-sample-ballot-gotv.php

quote:

Reports out of Connecticut on Election Day tell a tale of Republican Senate candidate Linda McMahon sure to go down in the annals of GOTV false flag operations.

McMahon’s campaign is closing out the cycle with an appeal to urban and minority voters that looks and feels much like a Democratic campaign effort. Doorhangers call on voters to cast their ballots for President Obama as well as McMahon, promising the pair “will fight for us.” T-shirts mimicking the election gear worn by members of the Service Employees International Union are being donned by pro-McMahon forces at polling places, again tying McMahon to Obama. They read “I Support Obama & McMahon November 6th.” And “sample ballots” bearing McMahon’s campaign bug are being handed out at some urban polling places with just two names on them: McMahon and Obama.

Nowhere does any of this material say McMahon is a Republican or is herself voting for Mitt Romney.

DaddySatyr -> RE: Democrat shenanigans (11/6/2012 2:35:42 PM)

Bob Menendez (D-NJ) doesn't identify himself in his ads or even on his own website. I think it's fairly common practice for local politicians to not want to get mired down with ideology (whether they're mebarrassed by it or not)

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Not a goddamn thing that voter id would fix, though.

Coming from the Republican U.S. Senate candidate and Romney advocate Linda McMahon, these speak eloquently -

Just to show you this isnt all Dem-sided

PITTSBURGH — An Allegheny County judge on Tuesday issue an order to halt electioneering outside a polling location in Homestead.

County officials received a complaint shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday that Republicans outside a polling location on Maple Street in Homestead were stopping people outside the polls and asking for identification.

The order states: “Individuals outside the polls are prohibited from questioning, obstructing, interrogating or asking about any form of identification and/demanding any form of identification from any prospective voter.”

Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Guido A. DeAngelis, one of two judges overseeing Elections Court, issued the order and said such actions by partisans “could have a chilling effect” on voting.

Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey A. Manning, who also is overseeing the court this morning, said the only people permitted to ask for ID are the poll workers inside the voting locations.

Poll watchers will ask for photo ID, but voters need not show identification for this year’s election.
