The religious tend to be at peace with the idea that God did not explain it to them. For them it just works.

That may be fine and good, but I still think their lack of diligence is catching up to them.

quote:

Diligence is steadfast application, assiduousness and industry—the virtue of hard work. It is one of the seven heavenly virtues.

Diligent behavior is indicative of a work ethic — a belief that work is good in itself.

What I'm talking about is something more full-bodied as in Catholic is needed. You left the Church. Perhaps it is time to return.

Do you gain or loose a stroke when you change hands?

Speak as if I were an athlete. Why is it that I am getting the impression that you mean something else entirely?

I am reminded of The Wiccan Rede

quote:

... John 4:7–8, which says, "Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love."

I used to be into this. It's pretty cool, but it's fluffy. Sometimes you need something a bit more potent. When you need something more potent, do you reach for God? I have and I do. In this my orientation is plain. I highly recommend it.

I was looking for news concerning Iran and I came by this.

quote:

The Israelis could only do serious damage to Iran if the US air force joined it in a prolonged and wide-ranging assault similar to that the Americans carried out in Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003. But this is unlikely to happen because the one thing American voters do not want is another war in the Middle East.

What this suggests to me is that the U.S. is waiting for Jewish blood to be spilt before it declares war. It doesn't want to prevent a war. It is like what happened in the Gulf War when Iraq invaded Kuwait. I vividly recall how we had our ambassador reassure Iraq that we didn't care one way or the other if Iraq were to invade Kuwait, then low and behold Bush, one, turned around and said how terrible it was for Iraq to invade Kuwait. If we wanted peace, what we would have told Iraq was, "Fuck with Kuwait, we fuck with you." That is what I would have told Iraq if I were President of the United States. Just that one line could have ended the war. All this talk of peace from the antichrist worries me.

John 4:7–8 "Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love." It was Jesus Christ, who set the standard, however. He showed us what it is to love. How many of you could say that you moved Heaven even once.

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/25/2012 9:13:36 PM)

I moved Heaven.

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/25/2012 9:31:18 PM)

A moment before the moment of exorcism came an angel came to me. God the Father had given me the honor of announcing the charge. Once I made the announcement the host of Heaven poured out of Heaven, that is the army of God, the angels. I was, but a man. Though I played a part, it was the cavalry of God who did the heavy lifting. I was, however, given a place of honor. It was a blitzkrieg. It was a war that began and ended at the speed of lightning.

Pray with me.

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/25/2012 10:31:46 PM)

When you love, love with all your might!

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/26/2012 1:51:07 AM)

If you are unloved, become love because it will make you one tough bastard.

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/26/2012 2:10:53 AM)

That has got to be some where in scripture.

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/26/2012 2:36:20 AM)

I could not leave her side because I was already hardened by suffering. I knew what it was to suffer. To abandon her would be to abandon myself. A weaker man would not have been able to figure this out, however.

Do not betray yourself.

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/26/2012 2:51:08 AM)

To paraphrase a young woman, humans suck. But this is a dilemma for us since we are human. You have got to rise above because it is something we cannot escape.

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/26/2012 2:57:11 AM)

This is the message of the Church that is repeated over and over again: Do not betray yourself.

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/26/2012 5:11:04 AM)

God's sense of grandeur is truly something to behold. Nothing He does, no matter how seemingly small, can be said to be nothing.

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/26/2012 5:13:49 AM)

You just have to get to know Him.

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/26/2012 5:23:06 AM)

Does the Democratic party have what it takes to rebuke Satan?

BenevolentM -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/26/2012 5:27:54 AM)

It is not that we are Republicans or Democrats that matters. It is whether we are all on the same team.

VideoAdminTheta -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/26/2012 12:29:26 PM)

I will be leaving the flood, but back to the topic and posting.

Cheers!

meatcleaver -> RE: Why should we preserve Iran (11/26/2012 2:19:26 PM)

Is this the surreal thread?
