Instead of wasting your time Talking for weeks with someone and then only to find they are not who they say they are or just disappear on CM. Do this simple task. Ask them to send you a picture looking in a mirror showing on a piece of paper a random number you have given them. Get ready to hear the reasons they can not do it. So far I have actually had one person do it and that same person has phone verified as well. Just an idea to help make your search more pleasant and not drive you crazy

Get ready for you to lose some folks as well who aren't going to comply with your demands because it's too soon for them, or because they don't want to give a complete stranger their picture, which can then be misused across the internet.

With all due respect, if you're getting fooled by fakes badly enough to waste weeks with them, there's a problem.

I'd tell ya to fuck off. I have multiple pictures of the same person on my profile. I never would cam verify or do custom pictures. If the person I was talking to didn't like it, I walked away. I don't believe I should have to prove myself just to have a conversation.

After awhile of IMs/emails, when I was comfortable that I wasn't going to have to change my phone number to get rid of you....I'd talk on the phone.

I was just referencing some people I have talked with about the weeks thing. You are correct about if your being fooled that long. As far a people not wanting to do it or it is to soon or worried about there picture being on the internet. If they have a problem giving me a full body shot. I do not care if they blank there face or half there body. I just want to see the number being held in the mirror. I would gladly do it for anyone I thought I had a connection with.

Or you could do something really radical like just talk to people like they're, you know...people. I met my Kittyboi here and never worried about him being "fake" or a "time waster." Because we talked to each other like "real folks" and didn't place any expectations on each other beyond having a nice conversation. We moved to personal email to texting to Skype when the time felt right for us. There was none of this "cam verification" bullshit involved.

Osidegirl then if I had someone who told me that, that would be that and we both could walk away. As I said, it is something very simple and I could care less if someone has many pictures on there profile. If they can not or will not do this simple thing. It gets me wondering. They do not have to show there face, just hold it at there waste that would be fine as well.

I don't feel that I should have to jump through hoops just to have a conversation. If someone is unwilling to take that small leap of faith, then there's not much point any way.

Starting with the assumption that someone is fake and needs to prove otherwise is like saying someone is guilty until proven innocent.

Sure but at best photo verification proves that a person is the gender and approximate age they say they are. It doesn't prove they are who they say they are or won't disappear.

I talk to a lot of people online. Those I'm not planning on meeting, I couldn't care less if they are what they say they are. It's idle chit-chat, nothing more and nothing sexual.

For the guys I was thinking of meeting, we chatted online. I never gave a pic, but gave an honest description of myself. I never invested much emotionally into the cyber relationship - I learned early on that chemistry online and chemistry in real-life are poles apart.

If and when we decided to meet, I planned the meet around a shopping trip. If they were a no-show or there was no chemistry, I went shopping.

What I refused to do was to get jaded about finding someone. As soon as you become jaded and cynical, it comes across in your communication. I was looking for a person with a positive outlook and I knew I needed to show the same. I have walked away from guys who insisted on pics early on in the chat, or wanted to cam or skype. I did things at my pace, and as it turns out that's what worked for me.

There is a quite popular website called 4chan. On there this is called time-stamping, where you write somewhere in the picture the date and time. This is used to counter the old adage that there are no women on the internet. Does this work, who knows. Most people take offense at having to prove themselves first thing, others can easily fake even a time-stamp.

I'd say no, but I would meet for coffee. Online games like that are just too baroque. Keep it simple. :)

I wouldn't (and didn't) jump through hoops to have a simple conversation. I wasn't even looking anyway, so when he emailed to say hello I almost didn't even reply. We had pretty simple and brief conversations online for a few weeks until we started talking on the phone, and then we shared pics.

The "hold up a number" just feels too silly to me, personally, although I understanding people feel the need to do this. I'd have just said no thanks and moved on.

I would tell you to go skip rocks.

We are not in any kind of dynamic for you to make demands on me, even if we are exchanging emails. If you are truly that afraid of people not being who they claim to be online, my suggestion is sell your computer and forget about the internet.

Btw.... the flaw to your "test" is I could easily have my roommate, or neighbor or the bum that panhandles take a photo with your requested number and tell you it's me. Doesn't make it me but it passes YOUR test. Lol

NuevaVida Agree... I would not ask if all we were having was a simple conversation. These are people that contact us about coming down to visit or are looking to be a sub/slave to us

My opinion on this is I'd turn away anyone offering that without getting to know me first. I don't take people like that seriously from the get-go.
