I haven't read the entire thread, so please forgive me if I repeat what someone else has already said.
You state that you are only looking for on-line. But for many, that would place YOU in the category of not being real. After all, for many of us, we seek to be able to interact outside of cyberspace.
"Real" is in the eyes of the beholder. It's very difficult to find a suitable partner. Why do you think websites like this, as well as vanilla sites like Cupid.com, eHarmony, match.com, and others exist? So just be patient and keep putting yourself out there. But frankly, saying that people aren't "real" sounds like nothing more than whining, which is definitely not a good characteristic.
