As I am very new to this but no fool where would be a good starting place to get into real SLOWLY !!

Hi Adoby. Welcome to the message boards. Many will suggest the best place to interact with others in the lifestyle is to attend local munches, which are casual meet and greets, usually at local restaurants and such. These are completely non-BDSMy, meaning to the outside world, you are just getting together with some friends. You can also participate here in the forums, and get to know the many lovely people that post here.

Munch a good place to meet people, learn about local seminars & the like. Realize dominance is about a lot more than chest thumping & being on top. Its about mastering yourself & being sure you have mastered impliments & their dangers before using them on others! As a for instance, went through a period where I really liked heavy chains for hand restraints (think pirate movies). Before I realized the necessity of safety snaps I had sub in bondage, was above him when eye bolt ripped from the wall releasing his hands forward at the exact moment my face was headed in the direction of the eye bolt in the way of his released hands giving me a balck eye for a week & temporarily knocking me out with sub unable to release himself. Moral of the story: Use reinforcing studs on top of wall studs when installing eye bolts Use safety release snaps (for horses) on chains for emergencies

I keep thinking that this is very consent oriented, so, why not try a club? It will attract like minded folks who aren5 timid. But you have the advantage in that you get to see how they play, make friends, and get recommendations. I have found lots of good scenes that way and networked to make friends with folks who aren't just looking, but actually want to play.....and some of them want to go slow, like you.

I'm pretty sure that 6 months later, he already has his answers. The mods frown on resurrecting threads that are more than three months old for that very reason.
