We have GNC stores here, so i don't think i'd have any trouble aquiring that suppliment.
Yet, i might have to settle for packaging and Google for suggested dosage, since i don't speak the Korean language.

Recently, hospital admin' has been the "it" field for students. Study this, do the grunt work, work towards the position, earn big bucks.
Well, i can see the need.

I have to say, good luck in your quest for competent diagnosis! My experience was that, until I actually threatened to punch my doctor if she did the same standard routine blood tests, patted me on the head, and sent me out the door with another bandaid prescription (usually some form of birthcontrol pills), no one actually took my medical issues seriously. Even then, once she did more tests and sent me to a specialist, and they discovered that I was harbouring endometrial cancer at the tender age of 26, no one looked further for the REASON a 26 year old wound up with a cancer normally only seen in menopausal women.

I have PCOS and several other issues, all related to the endrocine system. It's not fun and it's not easy, but a competent diagnosis is possible and treatment is possible. The best doctor I have now is actually a obgyn, but he has the unusual gift of looking further than the obvious. He's the first doctor who actually wanted to take me OFF the birthcontrol pill!

As I said, good luck and don't give up. It's possible to get what you want and be free of the symptoms you're dealing with now.

Wow. That had to really hard to get through all that.

Lately i've been thinking how much it must suck to be a doctor. They have to listen to people's problems all day, and they have to comply with beurocratic limitations like everyone else.
OTOH, it's not like they didn't know that's what they were signing on to do.

i'm very lucky because i've got Chaos to keep me from giving up. It's very reassuring to see that others have got through the evil briar tangled forest that is our current medical establishment.

However, any of the multiple times in the past that doctors have put me on the standard treatment of contraceptives to "even out" hormone levels, i just end up feeling really sick the whole time i'm on it and it has never improved the statis of the Endo' or occurance of cysts.

(Disclaimer - my condition is different from yours.) Can you try bio-identical hormones as opposed to synthetic? I have no problem at all with Prometrium (a natural progesterone) but was never able to tolerate synthetic BC.

PROMETRIUM is an FDA-approved micronized progesterone made from plant sources. It is structurally identical to the naturally occurring progesterone produced by a woman's body

i've been told that my anxiety stems from something off with my adrinal glands, and of course, my girly hormones are never what they're suppost to be, ever.

So, should i tell Baby-Catcher Barbie to frak off and try my luck with a proper endocrinologist since i'm going to be stuck here for the next couple of years?

My gf with PCOS had good luck with an endocrinologist and regular exercise. Regular exercise is crucial for my mental health.

FelineFae -> The waiting game, (12/19/2012 7:06:09 PM)

There have never been positive results when doctors have introduced any type of hormone to my system.
i'm currently waiting through the holiday-havoc to see the other doctors that can refer me to an endocrinologist, if they agree that is what i need.
It will be a while before i see the other doctors, that's just the way it is here.
my GP put me on neurontin and tramadol to deal with the pain until the root of the problem can be addressed, and it's working well enough.

theRose4U -> RE: The waiting game, (12/19/2012 9:55:28 PM)

So they put you on an anti-depressant & an animal tranquilizer?? Ummm ummmm wow trying to wrap my brain around you & my arthritic shepard are on the same drug. Ummm not working. :(

kiwisub12 -> RE: The waiting game, (12/20/2012 3:20:23 AM)

umm - theRose4u - where exactly do you think animal drugs come from? The vast majority are human drugs renamed for the animal market. So your helpful comment really isn't so helpful after all.

angelikaJ -> RE: The waiting game, (12/20/2012 8:04:06 PM)

Neurontin is NOT an antidepressant.
It is an anti-seizure medication that can be miraculous with some types of pain.
It is also sometimes prescribed for other conditions such as bi-polar disorder or anxiety.

It is true that Tramadol is used in pets; as are ACE inhibitors, beta blockers, SSRIs, prednisone and insulin.
When my cat had extensive dental surgery for stomatitis, they sent her home on a Fentanyl patch.

Ultimatetragedy -> RE: The waiting game, (12/20/2012 8:40:22 PM)

Neurontin is neither an antidepressant nor an anti seizure medication. It IS a GABA agonist. It has multiple uses including: analgesia, raising seizure thresholds (as all GABA agonists do), mood stabilizers, restless leg syndrome, etc.

vasya9 -> RE: The waiting game, (6/6/2013 8:18:32 PM)

To original poster. Im not an endocrinologist, but if so many different glands are involved, it may be stemming from your pituitary gland. There's a reason its called "the master gland." Endometriosis/PCOS may be just coincidental.

And Neurontin was originally an antiseizure medication, but was found to be effective for certain types of pain. It is not a GABA agonist, despite what Wikipedia says. On occassion they are wrong.
