PSA for travelers from hotel staff everywhere:

If you decide to stop for a nap in a hotel, and feel that their lowest rate is more than you want to spend for your 6-7 hours in the room (pick any time frame, this still applies), think of this:
Regardless if you stay 1 hour or 24 hours, the work for the housekeepers is the same. Therefore the cost of supplies and wages for those housekeepers is the same.

Regardless of how much or how little time you are physically in that room, the staff - no matter what role they have at the property - is STILL there, STILL working, and while you may think that your 6-7 hour stay is no big deal - it is to THE STAFF that have to treat your stay the same as a guest who is there for several days.

Thank you for understanding.

Oh, and tips are appreciated by all staff members!!  If there is a policy against tipping the staff member will let you know!

which are not available in the US - or anywhere BUT Japan, if I am not mistaken?

It's sad that people need to be told this. People have a sense of entitlement and tend to take it out on service staff. It goes in the same category of those demanding the rules are changed for them or that they should get things for free. They forget that chances are the person on the front desk is probably a lower-paid member of staff with little or no discretion or power. They don't deserve crap.

Ugh, Greedy. I get people that do day rooms and don't understand that. Yeah, the pods are in Japan. Although, I heard they're doing some in Seoul soon.

I also get people that don't understand that if they're in a middle seat, it's because there was nothing else available. They somehow think I ignore their preference and randomly put them in center seats.

CENTER SEAT???? OFF WITH HER HEAD!! *grin*

I used to demand window.  Now, I prefer aisle, but center will do.  would LOVE exit row aisle, but since it seems everyone has started charging extra for exit rows..(yanno, gouging the passengers for "extra" leg room that USED to be normal...LOL).

Most of the airlines are blocking out the entire front of their planes for their high level frequent flyers. American pretty blocks the entire plane. It's gotten very frustrating.

I trained for your job, Oside (that's how I met my current boss, ages ago).  I do not envy you.

I actually enjoy what I do. (Much more so since I started working for myself) But, I do want to bang my head when people think that just because they want something means that it should exist.

My Dad is a GM, so I grew up in the hotel industry.
