Mine is because I am a night owl. So is my best friend and we are nuts enough to take our evening walks around midnight.

Most names I do not think much about, but if it was very offensive then yes it would color my opinion of them.

When I see your name I always think of the sales stores have when they open at midnight and they advertise them as "moonlight madness sale".

Oh I would too if we did not live in a town where everything but the bar is closed by 9 PM. There are times when it is going on 10 at night and I really need something and wish we had moved to Springfield where so many places are open 24 hrs.

It is funny what comes to mind when you see people's profile names. I don't mean the hardcore or graphic ones but the ones like...Moonlight Madness (like LW..I thought shopping), there is someone who has "Duke" in his name..I think of Duke University & envision Blue Devils, somebody with Meister makes me think of the Burgermeister Meister Burger, somebody has GP in their name and I always think "General Practioner"

I did always take the time to read profiles with sadist in the name as that is a quality I was looking for. I always skipped right over names that involved anatomy or sexual references. Guess I'm just lazy. I kept the screen name I had years ago on a vanilla site. A variation of a nickname given to me by a friend of my sister. Master is discussing changing it to actually reflect more of who and what I am.

When I see someone with Meister in their name I think of the Christmas cartoon...I think it's Jack Frost or The Town without a Christmas...the mean, old BurgerMeister lol.

When I see your name I think of Barbarella with Jane Fonda.

I don't think you're rambling at all! (Such a pretty avatar you have, by the way!)

Yes! How can a person not help but make assumptions about a screen name? Especially since I think the greater share of the time that people choose them because they fit who they are? And it's also the very first impression a person makes online.

Personally? I chose the name I did because it suits my individualistic personality, and the fact that I am very selective when it comes to the type of submissive(s) that interest me.

Okay, so I'm admittedly relatively new, and I know the adage about not judging a book by its cover, but still... is it just me, or does someone's profile name have the ability to make you turn away before even reading their profile? In the bdsm community especially, is it not less a judgmental thing than a real indicator thing? For example, if someone's name was 'WomenAreBitches' (please god don't let that really be someone's name... I just improvised!), isn't it reasonable for someone who isn't into degradation or humiliation to assume things from that?

I'm probably rambling, so I'm going to hush now

LMAO at your "aside," Nakhla. Hahahahahahaha

I have a strong preference for non-explicit, non-kinky IDs, which is actually the main reason I ditched my old ID ( I just wasn't comfortable with it anymore. ) Kink centered ones tend to make me think that's where the interest ends.

As an aside, I think we should collectively set up a blind date between WomenAreBitches and FuckMeWithABaseballBat. I think they'd be great together.

I think most people's monikers mean something....I mean, after all, they came up with them, attempting to suggest something about themselves.

For instance....for those who can read between the lines....mine means....

"Stud who can make love for weeks on end who most people think is actually Brad Pitt when they first meet (me), but are often amazed (I'm) not".

(Very few get that on first glance from my screen name....thanks for asking).

mine is the name that was given to me a very long time ago by my first Master. it is Gaelic for fine, beautiful. or so he told me. my current Master calls me by my given name and i haven't thought to change my online moniker to anything else.
