You also forgot Haven. Fairly new, but still a great show.

It did not show up on lists of the best sci fi of all time.

Quantum leap was lots of fun

Without a doubt, Dr. Who.

If neither Edge Of Darkness nor Haven turned up on the list you used for the poll, maybe it wasn't a very good list?
Seriously, the original telly series of Edge Of Darkness is breathtakingly good. The list favours American series and serials, which is fair enough, but there's an awful lot missing, such as some of the children's SF and fantasy series from the '70s and '80s that were shown on British telly, and even American series like the Rock Hudson Martian Chronicles or the Vincent Price and Ray Bradbury anthology series.

(And you've listed Lost In Space twice, when it's a bucket of cold shit and shouldn't even be listed once...)
[/nerd]

I fixed that and put your idea in its place... so there.

You are welcome...

And by the way, while I do like Dr. Who, I think firefly was a better series, and the short sightedness of the network big wigs let it die, but it lives on .

Firefly was great, no question. Loads better than Buffy. I take it you know about the business with them insisting on a second trailer that made Nathan Fillon's character less interestingmore appealing to some cretinous idea of the average television viewer and running the episodes out of order so the plotting didn't develop properly?
It's a miracle it even managed the one series with that going on, frankly...
