The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 65% of American Adults think the purpose of the Second Amendment is to make sure that people are able to protect themselves from tyranny.

1. Isn't that the same Rasmussen poll that, along with Gallup, was inaccurate enough to predict a Romney victory? How have they changed their methodology so they're no longer wrong?

2. I can't understand the term "purpose" as stated. Is that original purpose, current purpose, or both? And does the respondent favor some form of gun control or not?

With some 200 million firearms and growing I don't think there is much worry about tyranny, now paranoia that something to worry about.

*blinks* Honestly? You seriously don't think in the current climate that tyranny is a pressing problem? Dude, we have an entire class of people who are so far above the law that they laugh at it as they ignore it. We have a president who feels that indefinite, extra-judicial search and detainment are perfectly fine. We have a congress who thinks that torture is pretty nifty. We have a government that is investing more and more in both intelligence and counter-intelligence efforts against it's own citizenry. We are militarizing our police force at ever-increasing rates.... drones... armored personnel carriers... body armor.... chemical weapons....

Yeah... I'm a bit worried about tyranny.

I don't me just handguns, rifles of all types and shot guns as well, and the number are growing. Futher there was group considering overthrowing the US government, mostly they were Washington Officers but George talked them out it. All things considered are we really in that much danger?
