This is a funny thing passed on to me I thought you all might get a chuckle out of. How nudist and other email groups tend to work:

---------------------------

How many nudists does it take to change a lightbulb?

One to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been
changed.

Fourteen to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how
the light bulb could have been changed differently.

Seven to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.

Seven more to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing
light bulbs.

Five to flame the spell checkers.

Three to correct spelling/grammar flames.

Six to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ...

Another six to condemn those six as stupid.

Fifteen to claim experience in the lighting industry and give the
correct spelling.

Nineteen to post that this group is not about light bulbs and to please
take this discussion to a lightbulb (or light bulb) forum.

Eleven to defend the posting to the group saying that we all use light
bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this group.

Thirty six to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior,
where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best
for this technique and what brands are faulty.

Seven to post URLs where one can see examples of different light bulbs.

Four to post that the URLs were posted incorrectly and then post the
corrected URL.

Three to post about links they found from the URLs that are relevant to
this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group.

Thirteen to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety
including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"

Five to post to the group that they will no longer post because they
cannot handle the light bulb controversy.

Four to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

Thirteen to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting
questions about light bulbs."

Three to tell a funny story about their cat and a light bulb.

and

One group lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now with
something unrelated they found at snopes.com and start it all over
again!

I know a few people who worked for a steel mill here in the dirty city. Pilferage was at an all time high there, even though they paid really well, the employees did not have to bear the expense of buying light bulbs (lightbulbs).

The company responded by switching over to bulbs with a left handed thread.

The company also purchased a quantnty of high EER window unit air conditioners. The employees began stealing them, selling them to support their light bulb (lightbulb) addiction.

I think we need to look at the serious consequences of light bulb (lightbulb) addiction. It causes panic in a power outage, annoyance of neighbors and many other social ills can probably be attributed to this malady. The sad part is that this addiction is not recognized, as widespread as it is. There, sadly, is no research money available for study, to find a cure.

I believe there is a conspiracy here, the light bulb (lightbulb) manufacturers are probably lobbying to prevent any meaningful research from taking place. They are so deeply entrenched in government and society that even the research facilities and government offices are addicted to light bulbs (lighbulbs).

If people don't wake up and see the dark, we will forever be under the control of the light bulb (lightbulb) Masters. Thomas Edison was the unwitting tool of these greedy manufacturers, akin to Timothy Leary. Leary was trying to explore the human mind, Edison had his own goals for the good of mankind, but in each case large greedy corporations reap the profits while people suffer.

This is not the first time either, Ranson Eli Olds thought he did the world a favor by using that waste substance known as gasoline or benzine in cars. They were discarding it as it was too volatile for use in lamps, the predecessor of the light bulb (lightbulb). Was Olds an unwitting tool of the greedy corporations or a fellow conspirator ? It is hard to say.

We don't know if these inventors should be held culpable for this problem, but the greedy corporations need to burn in hell, whether it is exothermic, endothermic or adibiatic. (used that word twice today :-)).

If you think the Edison invention had a profoud effect on society, look at what Olds did. People now get loans to buy cars ! What's more these cars are laden with lightbulbs. If it wasn't a conspiracy then, it certainly is now !

Wake up and see the dark, before it is too late.
