I was wondering..........do switches ever collar each other as subs, and if so, how is it usually done? I've never collared a sub before. Is there a certain ceremony or certain words that are supposed to be said?

i'm a switch about to be collared by a switch... i'm submissive to her. some of the things that i initiate with her might be considered topping by some, but i dont feel in control at all, more that i do certain things with her pleasure in mind...  *grins* anyway its going splendidly

If you do a general websearch with these keywords you should be able to come up with some information regarding a "formalized collaring ceremony" .. BDSM Collaring Ceremony....

A collar is a symbol of ownership and while I have not heard of switches "collaring each other" I am of the opinion that if someone thought of it, then someone has done it. I certainly see no reason why it could not be done if you are in fact trying to get the message out that you "own each other". However, if it is not the ownership of each other that you are trying to symbolize, then you may want to ask yourself what exactly it is you are looking to signify with this act.

Good luck with your relationship!

I have had the thought of how amusing it would be to completely train a submissive to appear to be my Dominant at all times.... It would be useful to me to be able to appear as a submissive at events and such, while all the while maintaining my authority and control.

I knew a couple who switched roles once a month. But they weren't intense about it -- only bedroom stuff, really.

I thought it would be amusing to do a complete, formal switch, every month like that.... how fun! A true exercise in mental control for both parties..

missalice that is a wonderful idea!  It tummels through any walls one would hold between not only the bedroom and the real world but the physical/emotional and the pure mental.  That I would like to hear about, thanks for the great idea!

What I have found, and this is from personal experince only, is that in any new relationship with another switch we tend to swap around a lot, no set time, just when it feels right. However usually the roles tend to gravitate to one partner being primarly Dom/sub.

With my sub at the moment, while I am dominant nearly all of the time, there are just times when we switch our roles and she does the Domming for a bit. It hasn't affected our "normal" setting at all.

I've had a collared sub before. I enjoyed it. I am a sub/bottom/whateveryouwanttocallme 95% of the time. There are just certain people who can bring out my Domme side. I'm a wedding officiant, and one of the services I offer is a formal collaring ceremony.

I'm a switch, and I wear Holly's Collar (a beautiful necklace with a charm of three hearts on it - given to me on our 5th anniversary).  She and I used to switch all the time - but as NikoB stated, it eventually gravitated to her being dominant pretty much all the time.  I still say I am a switch though, because she does sometimes still let me Top - and we are both dominant to the boy(s).

I also have to agree with NikoB except for me it is all about what music is playing as to what role I am in.
