Yankeestick -> Dacryphilia (11/8/2004 2:19:36 PM)

In another thread, someone mentioned a fetish term I'd not heard before: dacryphilia.

Dacryphilia: person who is aroused by seeing their partner cry [From: The Encyclopedia of Unusual Sex Practices]

Like the Staples cmmercial says: "Yeah, we got that".

A number of times, while engaged in plain old vanilla lovemaking, a number of partners have spontaneously started crying - from sheer overwhelm. I've always found that very moving, and also very affirming of my ability to create a certain kind of psychic field. That's never something I planned to happened - the spontaneous combustion made it very passionate, very erotic.

Being something of a sadist, it's also exciting to deliberately make her cry from pain and/or discomfort. One of my favorite implements is this particular riding crop that I got in a Horse Saddlery (really a great place to shop for REAL industrial strength stuff) that's 4 feet in length, thin, stiff and very springy. It really does get someone's FULL attention very quickly - and the tears flow easily with the severity that this particular piece produces.

OK...here's the question: anyone else on the topside (master or dominant), get off on the tears?

I don't know what the complementary fetish might be called (getting aroused by being made to cry), but anyone on the bottom (submissive or slave) equally turned on by the experience?

no....

but its very interesting. this one things tears are a moving experience, but that is it. A deep psychological expression. Turned on by tears?

this one thinks its amazing that there is a term for everything out there

this one wonders what the terms for "being turned on by drinking juice" "being turned on by grass" "being turned on by cellphones ringing" and "being turned on the feel of carpet under your toes" could be.

I never heard the term before or the kink. Myself if my partner starts criing it just ruins it for me...I've always hated to see a woman cry. But then I'm into it for intensity not abuse....Mykal

In a scene, I love the tears. There is something about making a person feel you to that level that just does it for me. Outside of the scene, tears freak me out and make me feel powerless...one of the lovely paradoxes of wiitwd.

Yours,
Taggard

Abuse, Mykal?

I don't think so. Just a particular KIND of intensity that doesn't speak to you. Just like your particular kind of intensity doesn't speak to the moral majority.

Check you unwarranted judgments at the door, my friend. They don't serve you, or the community, well.

Best wishes -

Yankeestick

I totally get off on tears in a BDSM scene especially when I make the boys cry <weg>

I totally dislike tears when they are for emotional reasons outside of a scene.

Under the right conditions, I dig it. My wife is a serious cryer. When I'm feeling domly, that's great. I can work with that and go anywhere from being the cuddly teddybear to being the horrible ogre. Alas, she also does it when I show emotional vulnerability, which has been known to ruin an otherwise intense scene for me as a submissive.

Although there is something amusingly surreal about being tied to the bed and akwardly trying to hold someone and comfort them, saying something like "there there... I'm sure you didn't mean to draw blood with that..."

When I'm good, I'm good.
When I'm bad, I'm better.

I'm with Taggard here - In a power exchange situation, it's great. In emotional situations, it's a nightmare.

Example: pulling hair, snarling, using appropriate four letter words = crying girl? Now that's good!

Telling same girl you have to leave for three weeks for work = crying girl? Hell, time to find a new job.

i know several Doms who love tears.
My Mentor loved to see me cry and the crying for me wasn't always about the pain it was emotional. It's a power exchange and the emotional vulnerability i showed He loved. Once i got to the point of tears He knew i was all His, He knew His light touch would bring me warm feelings in such a emotional state. Very hard to explain *grins*

i think me totally opening up brought us even that much closer and i hold a lot inside so crying is good for me... to let it all out.

Smile...yes...for me too, jenn - a much more subtle thing to try to put in words than crying from the pain - entirely infused with the particular eroticism of deep intimacy.

not being a very emotional person , when brought to tears by a Dom its because ive been taken to the point where i couldnt reach on my own . its a tremendous release. its a very powerful thing . being held after is sooooo important *to me*. i think its a form of power that touches me deeply. i really love it .ive only been taken there by one Man and ive never considered it abuse .

tracey -> RE: Dacryphilia (11/15/2004 12:51:05 PM)

i have been reduced to tears on a few occasions whist scening with my Dom... he finds it erotic and it's a release for me, so yes we both get something from it and i do love it when he kisses the tears away. as i love it when he licks the tiny drops of blood that come with the sharp blade of his knife on my body.

*goes off for a cold shower* lol

HAHAHAHAHAHA only you......

From facts to fetishes. The prerogative to test has long been recognized as a source of power and social control. Dr.s and Scientists saw the examination as the strategy of political domination, a "means of normalization." In Discipline and Punish they described the examination of a "normalizing gaze" that "introduces the constraints of conformity . . . (that) compares, differentiates, heirarchizes, homogenizes, excludes the fetishem into reality. The process involves the science of the concrete (as opposed to our civilized science of the abstract.)

technocelfelia - being turned on by the ring of phones

sinophilia fetish - grass horticultueral addiction and the need to roll in the hay so to speak

the other two Ill leave for another time when Im in the mood to um well never mind..........

Ive never been brought to tears by anything other then birthing 11 lb big headed babies an watching My Belovids head get shot off and I couldent put it back together again. Poor Humpty Dumpty.......... Tears dont thrill Me like frightened moans and screams begging or the racing heartbeat that can be seen in the carotid an vertebral artery as the eyes widen........Mushie crap tends to piss Me off.

I have not experienced that in reality but if I am totally honest then I have to admit that it has entered into my realm of fantasies.
