Well then, dammit, why are you sitting on your pc and posting here? You should be out, spreading the gospel to your followers and converting people to your way of thinking!

Spread the word man!

Let your voice be heard!

(somewhere else)

Real0ne -> RE: A "Do It Yourself" conspiracy primer (2/3/2013 1:06:02 AM)

I do not need to convert anyone.

All I need do is present the evidence.

Once people see what has been hidden from them they figure out how they have been fucked and how the government is operating against them to the governments benefit not theirs.

Thanks to enablers.

tazzygirl -> RE: A "Do It Yourself" conspiracy primer (2/3/2013 1:42:48 AM)

Well then take your evidence on the road. Myself, I prefer to believe the first hand eye witnesses.

FR

I hate conspiracy theorists. They pretend to be prophets, educators and/or activists, when are they are doing is making the true activists -- muckraking journalists, think-tanks, intellectuals, etc. -- who do research and uncover injustice within our society look bad. I'm all for exposing the truth, but if you're a) too paranoid to disclose your "facts" because of government surveillance, b) a wack job with a poorly-constructed website/blog/"non-fiction" book looking for airtime, or c) just too fucking nuts to make sense, then do us all a favor and shut the hell up.

Honestly, in the age of cell phones, internet, satellites, online banking, and video surveillance, PEOPLE CAN LOCATE YOU. Goodness. And don't get me started on the conspiracy nuts all over Facebook. *face palm*

(Sorry, feeling pissy today.) [>:]

Also, wank fodder for the paranoids reading this: http://gawker.com/5981088/this-years-illuminati+super-bowl-connection-is-more-sinister-than-ever?popular=true

Facebook IS full of them....[>:]

Awww, thanks Level! [:D]

Oh goodness, when I was involved in Occupy Harvard, lots of these nuts were hitting me up. I wanted to get an AK-47 and lay waste to scores of idiots...and my hometown is chock-full of these mofos! Ugh.

littlewonder -> RE: A "Do It Yourself" conspiracy primer (2/3/2013 8:52:36 PM)

Here in Baltimore there's a conspiracy theory organization. They have a huge billboard near the hospital for their organization and talks about the government reading your minds lol.

Pretty quiet in Arizona on the conspiracy side. We're too busy screaming about illegal immigration to notice the Jews and their nefarious plots.

Jews. Always the Jews. LOL that part cracked me up!

Switcheroo1983 -> RE: A "Do It Yourself" conspiracy primer (2/3/2013 9:22:57 PM)

I am befuddled as to 9/11, though, on a serious note. Some of it seems quite fishy, other parts, cut and dry. I don't understand the lack of air cover over the Pentagon, or why in the name of God building 7 collapsed. I also don't understand why some people are so unwilling to believe bin Laden wasn't in some way behind it. I never bought the millionaire-engineer living in a cave story, but the man was not some "fall guy".

I have a simple rule for judging conspiracy theories (well, aside from dubious physics, and belief in ancient secret societies, etc)... how many people are alleged to be involved in the conspiracy? The truth of the matter is, people are lousy secret keepers. People like to blab... mostly because it is so much fun to have a secret. It gives you a sense of power over those who are not in on the secret. Of course, you have to tell at least one other person otherwise no one knows. The more people who blab, the more likely the conspiracy will be exposed. Given this propensity of people to blab we come to Marc2b's Law of Conspiracy theories: The more people alleged to be involved in a conspiracy, the less likely the conspiracy actually exists.

NOTE: I do not fancy myself possessed of so unique an intelligence that I was the first person to formulate this law. However, I have never seen or heard it expressed anywhere else. So, until someone shows me conclusive proof that someone else came up with this before me... I will continue to consider it as Marc2b's Law of Conspiracy Theories.

Of course, there might be a conspiracy against me to subvert the truth and rob me of my due credit.

Mine is themore peiple needed to make the conspiracy work the more implauseable it is, for example the guy comming up Pearlharbor Conspiracy had to be the only one not let in on it. And the more people involved the harder to keep it a secret. I have followed this guidline for over a decade but I am sure you came up with it independently as I only shared it with members of my own secret society (can't tell you the name for security reasons) If they knew I had told you this much they would despose of me arrrrrgh

Air cover during time of peace was always very thin back then.
Never believe a consiracy when incompitence will explain things.

Okay, there are a few things I have found out in recent years.

One, there is no fossil record of the process of taking wild feline predators and breeding them down to the size of house cats.

Two, house cats demand the absolute total devotion of their owners.

Three, 'domestic cats were worshiped as gods in ancient Egypt, which considering the advanced state of the Egyptian culture at the time, without that control of cats, they could have had human civilization and technology move rapidly to the point of flight in the dark ages, and space travel in the Renaissance.

It is therefore my theory that house cats are an alien species with the goal of being the supreme rulers of humanity. Cats have controlled the minds of various people throughout history to achieve this goal, including the Spanish Inquisition, Hitler, Carrot Top and many others. I am currently working on gathering proof that cats are the driving force behind the various terrorist movements in the world today, as well as the rash of natural disasters that have occurred over recent years.

The US military's HARP project is actually a cat influenced experiment to control weather, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

Oh, and President Obama was born in Hawaii and is a hybrid between a human mother and an extraterrestrial father.

Roswell is part of a UFO coverup.

We did not actually land on the moon, but landed on a planet in the same orbit as earth directly opposite to earth in orbital position.

Pre Gor actually, see the movie Journey to the Far Side of the Sun released in 1969.

Good movie for its time.

I saw it in Europe, it was called "Doppelganger". I am a very big fan of the late Gerry Anderson.
(FYI the first Gor novel was published in 1966, if you can find one of the first it rare, the cover shows Tarl Cabot with red hair)

I'm from Arizona too, and I think that a lot of people tend to be against the federal government as a matter of course and don't need conspiracy theories to convince them that the government sucks.

I'm not sure how many people actually believe these conspiracy theories versus those who just want to cynically "stir the pot," so to speak. The government has done quite a bit on its own to tarnish its own reputation and create cynicism and mistrust of the system. Heck, every election cycle we hear from opposing candidates all the misdeeds and peccadilloes of the other. We find out about corruption, abuse of power, bribery, theft, nepotism, cronyism, and all kinds of other bullshit in government (and in the corporate community as well). So, there's already an atmosphere in which conspiracy theories can take on a life of their own.

One thing about conspiracy theory I've noticed is that they tend to make the "powers that be" larger than life, as if they're some kind of all-powerful force with mystical powers that can't be defeated by earthly weapons. There tends to have a very defeatist tone to conspiracy theories, as if the government is so tyrannical and so powerful that there isn't any point in trying to work for change and reform in our society.

Gee I explain what is behind all the world's problems and only one person comments to tell me I was talking about Gor.

Come on people, wake up! The cats are working against you!

Switcheroo1983 -> RE: A "Do It Yourself" conspiracy primer (2/4/2013 10:03:38 AM)

Nice to see another Arizonan, Zonie63.

Are you just talking local government lol!? God, even our local politics/government sucks. Tells the feds to stick it and claims States' Rights and then turns around and sites federal law when medical pot is legalized. Gadzooks.

Your last paragraph nails it quite nicely.
