Nice to see another Arizonan, Zonie63.

Are you just talking local government lol!? God, even our local politics/government sucks. Tells the feds to stick it and claims States' Rights and then turns around and sites federal law when medical pot is legalized. Gadzooks.

Your last paragraph nails it quite nicely.

To expect logic from any level of government is to be, however briefly, out of contact with reality.
This does not mean I believe in anarchy some government is needed but all governments have thier faults.
I might point out that states have the right to enforce federal law.

Oh indeed, yes they do. I'm just talking local flip-flop politics. When AZ passed SB 1070 (immigration measures) it was seen to be against federal guidelines. State legislature essentially told the feds to stay out of State business. The State recently voted and made medical marijuana legal...and State legislators claim it's against federal law. It's just typical AZ political shit.

As much as I complain about AZ, I also love her dearly. I'll likely be buried here.

Read my post in the DIY conspiracy theory about cats, then you will understand what is going on.

I may point out that if the Feds actually put money where it is needed and not over funding defense, things might work better.

Oops, this is the DIY conspiracy thread.

Maybe I should try to catch up on the sleep I lost helping taking care of Damian, poor guy was running a temp off and on since friday.

No fever this morning, however he started running a mild temp at dentist...

And we found out that Damian is an impatient little stinker, he is cutting all four of his one year molars at the same time. Which explains the on and off again temp for the last three days.

Ah ha! Yes, I remember those days with my girls. Fevers and screaming. Good times.

I hope the poor little dude feels better soon (and your ears feel better as well).

My dogs have better sense of smell, they also attack and kill cats if they enter the yard, which is why we cant have cats at the house. I am actually trying to break them of this behavior.

One of my dogs is a timber wolf/Siberian husky mix. A week ago she tangled with a porcupine. And she took on a babcat and gave as good as she got judging from the trail of blood leaving the yard, and that little incident cost me close to 600 in vet bills.

As I recently learned, it is a bad idea to joke about conspiracies. They are serious business to some people. But if you are interested in inventing your own conspiracy theory for fun or profit, there is a time-tested formula:

1. Pick bad thing X that happened (it doesn’t matter what or when).

2. Postulate a conspiracy was behind it* (it doesn’t matter who or why). This is all you need to get going, but there are a few techniques you can use to fill in the blanks about what really happened during X.

3. Cherry pick factoids, take details out of context, mine quotes from public figures, elevate obscure minor incidents to center stage, juxtapose unrelated events, obsess over coincidence, point to suspicious lack of evidence that (if it existed) would support your theory, and always, always have pictures with big red arrows pointing to nothing in particular.

The general rule is: stitch together everything that vaguely supports your theory or calls into question the mainstream explanation, and ignore or deny everything that does not fit.

4. In later stages, once your campaign to uncover the truth is well-developed, create a really poorly-produced internet “documentary,” set it to scary music, and have your college roommate narrate it.

5. Denounce skeptics and scientists who debunk your claims as tools of the conspiracy, and make it clear that anyone who doubts your theory is a Moreaun human-sheep hybrid creature afflicted with narcolepsy. Tell them they need to, “Wake UP, SHEEPLE!”

6. Compile a list of a tiny number of “experts” that support some of your claims, and use it to lend a veneer of scientific credibility to your theory. Wherever possible, use misattributed, unsourced, and quotes taken out of context from experts who do not support your theory to imply they do.

7. Create lists of “unanswered questions” that, regardless of how well-answered, will always remain “unanswered.”

Events ripe for potential conspiracy theories:

• The Space Shuttle Challenger disaster
• The Lusitania
• World Trade Center Building 6
• The Titanic
• The Tangshan Earthquake or any natural disaster
• The 1918 Spanish Flu Pandemic
• AIDS
• Death of Ronald Reagan

Potential conspirators:

• Jews. Always the Jews.
• The President (any president)
• United Nations
• Pentagon/military-industrial complex
• CIA
• British royal family
• HAARP
• Federal Reserve (and bankers generally)
• Robber barons
• Council on Foreign Relations
• Trilateral Commission
• The Bilderberg Conference

Mythical groups potentially behind anything:

• Ancient aliens. Always ancient aliens.
• New World Order
• Illuminati
• Free Masons
• Reptilians

* Or, if a conspiracy really was behind it, add some unnecessary elements or another layer of conspiracy on top of what is generally accepted to have happened, just to blunt Occam’s Razor.
For example: the Black Hand really did assassinate Archduke Ferdinand...but there was a second shooter on the roof of the cafe!
Or: yeah, Mohammad Atta did it...but the CIA helped him!

Build Your Own Conspiracy Theory

A little humor (sadly, based on truth) for the weekend.

Lemme tell you sumpin...that cartoon is EXACTLY what the government is trying to do to us all!

They WANT (indeed....INSIST) on us marrying a gunless, immigrant gay illegal alien.

Lemme tell you...that is what's going on!!!!!!

That IS what our government (behind the scenes....don't fucking kid yourself) wants to happen!

You think otherwise????

You are soooo misinformed.

Not only that but (check this out)....they want us to get 72 month car contracts so we can be caught up in a never ending swale of never owning your own car!

You fucking kidding me?

Do the research!

(It's on the gawdamn net).

Wanna lease a car? $225.00 a month. Own it? $477.00 a month.

The difference?????

YOUR GAWDAMN FUCKING FREEDOMMMMMM.....THAT'S ALL!!!!!

Hey....I'm just gonna sit here and be quiet....I know where these fucks are hiding....I have my internet hidden....fuckin A.....yeah....fuckin A rights.

I know what's going on.

So far today on facebook, I have seen pro gun groups claiming that Obama wants to ban all guns.

It is just assault weapons, and with a Republican controlled house, dont see it happening.

Then there was the post by a conservative group claiming that the Federal Government is moving US troops into cities in preparation for the declaration of martial law.

It takes congress to okay a call for nation wide martial law, see Posse Comitatus Act.

During the Bush administration they were setting up FEMA detention camps.

Considering how many people believe this crap, I could make a fortune selling beach front property in Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Idaho.

I am seriously considering buying a domain name, set it up on a server and come up with some bizarre conspiracy theory and ask for financial support to set up weapons and supply caches around the country... I would set up the weapons and supply caches too, super soakers and re-fried beans.

Federal, state, and local. We might have more specifics about the local government, if only because it's easier to get the local gossip from insiders, since they live in the same town.

You do not need to look for a conspiracy.

All one need do is a quick examine the government.

You will be hit by one after another square in the face.

Ventura, "what we though was a police state conspiracy is also a concentration camp conspiracy", tens of thousands of coffins.

Yeh congress passed a bill for fema camps and they are concentration camps!

They were targeting people with ron paul stickers on their cars? How dictatorial is that?

Its all on the record, black ink on white paper. hr645 and the concentration camps denied then whitewashed by the very congressmen who sponsored the bill!

Alex jones was just given national credibility!

but the president can do it under the emergency powers act and all that takes is suspicion they may to smell of a fart to declare an emergency should they want to stretch the meaning.

FEMA CAMPS - Jesse Ventura (Residential/Fusion Centers)

we have already seen it at waco, and the enablers (usually from or connected to brit countries) want to remove guns in this country as well.
