Lately when I browse on the dating part of this site I get annoying ads popping up in the window where a person describes his/her self. This means I have to view her entire profile to get rid of the ad. I use Firefox as webbrowser. Am I the only one here?

What I think you're saying:

When on the collarme.com main page, which browses profiles, popup ads appear. You view the profile itself to get rid of the ads. Is that it?

I use Firefox, and I've never had any problems with ads keeping me from reading profiles. And the bar that comes down to tell me when a popup has been blocked has never (to my knowledge) shown up while I was using CM.

I wish I could be more help to you.

I've been on Firefox for quite some time now with no issues.
Go into your tools, then Add Ons, and get Adblock. It works wonders everywhere!

I just installed adblock as you suggested. Now I don't see the ad, but I don't see the text of the profile too. Very strange. This only happens with profiles without journal entries. Those profiles with journal entries work fine.

Well, you've got some history with the site, and this sounds like a recent issue.
Do you also have Internet Explorer, and are the issues the same on that browser?
Perhaps you changed some kind of setting on your computer by mistake?
If you have XP, do a system restore, then clean out your internet history/cookies etc, and see if that helps any.

The fact that people are using their profile as a code container to jam an ad at you is probably a sign (to me at least) that there is no good reason to read their profile.

Thanks for all attempts to help me. I found the solution. Apparently some agressive piece of adware crawled his way into the configuration of my Firefox. About a month ago this happened with a search engine called Babylon too. I used about:config to get rid of Babylon and now I got rid of those annoying ads in profiles too. I was able to find this nasty piece of adware after rightcliking on the ads and then to check their properties. Then I went searching for this data in the about:config. Bingo. Got rid of it immediately. Eveything works fine again.
