But even the patent is deniable...which is part of the beauty of it. I am sure he would agree. Denying is everything, isn't it?
Bob

I give up. You just can't be denied. Happy birthday you desert demon.
Since the collar question has been answered, I wanted to add my wishes for a very happy/fun birthday and many more to Bob/desertrat.    M

D1961wildchild -> RE: putting under consideration (6/21/2006 1:56:15 AM)

I wear a consideration collar (Driver1961) ... and I would agree with the previous posts. To me it is the first step on the journey to a committed relationship. We spent a substanial ammount of time disscussing what we both wanted out of a relationship, what each of us needed verses what we desired. We explored eachothers views on life and when we both felt comfortable that there was indeed more to explore beyond freindship I asked if He would consider me with a view to being collared by Him ... after some thought He presented me with a collar of consideration.

It changed the dynamics to a "His girl" and "my Dom" formality and placed me firmly under His protection and guidence while we explored the possibilities of a future. The fact that I was brand new in my discovery of L/s and that we lived on oposite sides of the country did increase the need on my part for some tangible, formal type protection that allowed me when in doubt to stand behind the words of "You will need to ask Sir". lol

For us this has worked well, I have moved from W.A. to Victoria to be closer to Him and spend Mon-Thurs at work in the country and every week-end at home with Him exploring our relationship. I am thankful for a collar that allowed me to feel secure but did not make me feel like I was jumping in boots and all.

Other than the occassional need for His words of "shut the fuck up, sit the fuck down and listen to me girl" ... we are doing well lol.

I think I am going to create a new brand image for collars.  I want a "collar of wanton useage" where I get to use the hell out of the woman till the biodegradable collar wears off.

Hmmm I would have to talk to Sir but I am reasonably sure that His brand of consideration collar includes the "wanton usage" clause but without the biodegradable add ... I can tell by how well it holds under pressure lol

Thanks for remembering and for the good wishes. What does "s. o. c." stand for? If I had more coffee in me, I might be able to figure it out. Might be able to think and say more about wishes. Can't now.

Thanks to my friends, M and Noah, too.

...apologies if this constitutes hijacking.

Bob

oh! What a silly old coot I am...it stands for silly old coot.

This is a little different for everyone, but I can tell you how it goes in our household.

1. We're introduced to someone. It may be at a munch, at a party, or through email, but the ice is broken.

2. We talk briefly either in person or in email, to make sure that he or she is compatible with what we're looking for, and we're compatible with what s/he's looking for.

3. We meet formally, in person, to discuss practicalities like schedules, etc. If we've only met the person through email, this face-to-face meeting is mandatory before we go any further. It may be rescheduled -once-, due to a crisis. If there is a second request to re-schedule, we let them go.

4. We meet, in person, for the second time, after we've had a chance to put together a consideration contract (we have a basic one, but each one is customized for what we will specifically be providing one another, and for things like schedule and goals.) We give hir a chance to read over the contract, discuss any questions, and then clarify a trial time-frame (usually 3 months minimum). During this time, they are a trainee, in consideration status with our household. Either party may end the agreement with appropriate notice, and with no fault.

5. During the consideration period, we also evaluate the servant for skills and talents that, if this works out, we wish to expand on, enhance, and train further.

collar of consideration =  I have not made my mind up, I'll "consider" the option.

That's my take on something "i" find ridiculous.

I know I may be sitting on a buzz-saw here, but I would like to ask why you find a consideration period ridiculous.

Thank you,

mnottertail -> RE: putting under consideration (6/21/2006 7:15:01 AM)

I wouldn't think she does, as I read it.  The collar of consideration is what she finds ridiculous.  But she is her own kinda happy ass and she will explain herself I am sure.

LadiesBladewing -> RE: putting under consideration (6/21/2006 7:20:45 AM)

Perhaps it is also an aspect of how -I- was reading this. We don't have a special collar we use for the consideration period -- but the understanding is that the person won't be a full member of the household, with all the perks (yes, even our servants have perks) until we get through this consideration period and find out if it even works, so, to me, someone saying that they think a consideration collar is ridiculous translates into "I think a consideration period before accepting someone as a full servant in our household is ridiculous."

I'm certain smilezz will clarify for us. *s*

smilezz -> RE: putting under consideration (6/21/2006 7:35:09 AM)

LadiesBladewing....it's the whole "collar" that i find ridiculous.  Not the consideration.  If one is considering a person or persons, just leave it at that.  They are being considered.  To me, there is no need to have a symbol of a collar.
In any type of new relationship, there is a getting to know a person, finding out if each other fit....i personally don't see the need to slip a collar around that said persons neck to define that.
Unfortunately, there are alot of submissives out there that get that sub-frenzy when they find a Dominant...they think it will last forever, when in many cases....a said Dominant slips a "collar of consideration" around their neck...when in many more cases, that Dominant is saying:  I will consider you as an option....but i am leaving my options open in case something/someone better comes along.   Before i get drug through the cat litter on this one, i want to clarify that not ALL do this....but something i have seen over and over again.
I think that in reality, if two people just sit down and communicate the wants and needs of a blooming relationship...see where that takes them........there is no need for that symbol.  That is what i find ridiculous.  I hope that cleared the question up, if not, i will certainly try and explain better.

mnottertail -> RE: putting under consideration (6/21/2006 7:40:52 AM)

You know, ZZ -- I hear everybody talking about this sub-frenzy, but I never find them kinda girls, so if you know any, ship 'em up this way, I am an equal opportunity HNG and cad.

MrrPete -> RE: putting under consideration (6/21/2006 7:44:40 AM)

To me telling a sub/slave she is under consideration means just that and nothing more.
she is being considered to wear my collar. Like others here I wouldn't extend anything
else until we have met and even played a few times. There's no collar invovled except
the one I will place around her neck when I finally accept her submission.

taineeSP -> RE: putting under consideration (6/21/2006 7:54:50 AM)

i think being considered at all an honor, i happen to wear such collar, the next one will be the permanent collar.
