I was just contacted by a former lady friend from something called TWOO. It seems to be some sort of yahoo thing. The message I got says I have an email from her but in order to respond I have to post a recognizable face pic. I am not keen on doing that right yet. Their FAQs don't address anything about that. Seems like in addition to the pic, they want me to send them some $$. Anyone else got an info on this site or is it just another internet scam?
Thanks.

Any stranger on the interwebs asking for money is a scammer.

To me, it sounds like some of those random email doohickies I used to get from Facebook,
even though I've never had an account there. It seems it would target the email contacts
of some of their members and mass mail them, making them appear to be from the member.

So perhaps this former lady friend of yours is not intentionally scamming you, you just
happen to be someone in her contacts list.

A good way to open any questionable emails without being "attacked" is to right click
on it and choose View Message Source. The first parts will be a bunch of coding, etc,
but you can scroll down to eventually see what the message is, if any.
When in doubt, delete.

There's a reason this is at the top of every email you read here.

Can you guess why that might be?

That is absolutely not true and a complete and total falsehood.

I've asked for money on the interweb before and I'm simply lowlife scum dredging the bottom wherever I can.

Sounds like she may have had her email hacked.

Yes, I keep pointing that out, but if they call themselves 'findommes' they get a free pass.

Bizarre.

Email hacked.

A surprisingly common form of "advertising"

Note the quote marks. The reason to hack email is... to use someone elses' good name to get by your spam filter. Every time this happens, it's a scam. Real advertisers want you to know who they are. So they use their own names. And they very seldom use email. Because if you don't already have the name they are using in your contact list, the advertisement goes straight to the spam bucket.

So no one here's even heard of TWOO? I think it may be linked some how or other to Facebook.

TWOO is supposedly a singles dating site but the owners have had complaints of phishing. There seems to be tons of complaints about it. Google it.
