Ditto here, and I've recently met a keeper. He contacted me on OKCupid. I'm completely out as kinky there; he's not, and at one point I emailed him to say that I'd like to meet but I needed to know how kinky he was. (He'd been dancing around it, preferring to discuss it in person.) Now, we laugh about my fears that he wasn't kinky enough. (And are planning to meet each other's parents and friends this weekend.)

Hang in there!

Good for you!
And don't forget. When you marry a man, you marry his family, LOL!

That explains it. What I DON'T understand is how long you've been stalking me, how you fell in love with me, and what's this orange gel in the boxes you keep leaving at my door?

Ya know what?

What's important is THAT it happened....not how.

Let's move on.

The gel is an anthropomorphic issue.

Does it really matter how?

Uh...when you say that gel  is an "issue," exactly what sense of the word do you intend? I....might be afraid now.

The latch on my bathroom door doesn't fully engage. I can't remember the last time I peed without a cat audience.

my cat squeek would come in while I was sitting down and stare at me and if I didnt pet him he would bite my bare & vulnerable knee caps until I did pet him.. He knew he had me "cornered"..

Never be afraid of gel.

Gel is your friend.

(It comes in various colors).

Depends on whether it is an issue, or it has been...."issued." I still must know from whence it came! What is its provenance???

Being an old school kind of guy, you had me at the boy scout credo, "Smarter than the average bear, trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, clean, and brave. Also, funny, cute" . . . completely sold with the addition of "personal assistant/slave/1950s wife".

I can't imagine why your profile isn't attracting what you seek. June Cleaver was a hotty and anyone into 1950s households or Victorian households should be interested in you. Your libido, passions, domestic skills and interests really make you a rather nice package. Have you considered posting a photo? Men are like fish and attracted to shiny things. I know I have my radar set for photos only. Maybe your Mr. Right has the same setting and that is why he hasn't seen you?

You know, that might be it. I really need to get some photos--LilSquaw has offered, but I'd rather be....well, guess that analogy doesn't work here. But I hate being photographed. My own mother, may she rest in peace, told me, "The camera doesn't like you."

Jeff? Not sure I understood what you were saying here. Please expand on that thought? Thanks :)

OK... as you wish.

The original thought from plesto was that you present an unappealing demeanor in your profile. I didn't even read your profile and I agree solely on the strength of this posting. I would have passed you over for this thread. That, however, is a matter of personal taste and not really worthy of much commentary unless you, for reasons unknown, actually care about my personal opinion on the topic.

plesto went on to say that he felt that because these postings are online they won't affect you in "real life". I disagreed with that assertion. I don't believe in compartmentalization that way. In point of fact, I believe exactly the opposite. I believe that the anonymity most of you enjoy/use on the internet provides valuable insights into the real personality under the covers. So in my own opinion, whether or not the postings were online is meaningless since the underlying truth is with you always.

So what I think is that in person I would still reject you summarily. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I was simply debating the compartmentalization concept (eg: online attitudes and behaviors don't matter).

Ok, I'll give that some consideration. It may be that my ideas about humor aren't the same as yours or Mr. P's. Or you may be right, that I'm whiny (yes, I know you didn't say exactly that, but it's the general idea I get).

It's not that it's YOUR personal opinion, btw. I like constructive criticism wherever I can get it.

And I agree about compartmentalism, in regard to true feelings and anonymity. Scary, isn't it?

I'm reading through this thread, and I've got to say that it's been extremely valuable and educational so far beyond the original post.

I've gotten a couple of drinking buddies, a paint the town red offer from an Instructor Mistress (and I am excited about that, FTW!!), a monkey-goosing stalker, stinky food information, validation of my belief that my cats are here to bring me a taste of hell, dating advice, profile advice, a request for blog, found a couple of liberals who don't torment my soul....holy freakin' cats, I LOVE THIS PLACE!

The camera adds 20 lbs.

In my case, it adds other people.

(And I frankly, don't know who the fuck they are!).

Yeah, well it's the 20 years it adds that I object to....
