True story.

MP was one of those men who honestly couldn't fold a fitted sheet worth a damn when I met him. (Yes, that's after being raised by his mother and a rather long marriage to his first wife.) Wanna know how I taught him? I told him to start with the corners/seams as though he was flipping a double bird. Everything after that, smooth sailing.

Huh, you mean I shouldn't just screw it up into a ball and stuff it into the drawers under the bed?

No wonder I've not won sub-of-the-month yet.

If you semi fold it small and fold the unfitted part of the set large, it looks just fine with the goober fold hidden underneath.

"one of the biggest challenges you're going to face in your life is how to fold a fitted sheet"

If that's true, the woman has led a truly charmed life.[8|]

That video would have worked a lot better with Motorhead's 'Ace of Spades' playing in the background.

Set it on fire, that's how you fold it. Fitted sheets are sent from the devil.

That was my thought exactly..

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: How to fold a fitted sheet (3/7/2013 1:18:34 PM)

I just get both ends, and bring them together an then do my best to have it not look wadded up.

I don't get it.

Her entire point was...if you don't fold your sheets, you'll run out of room.

(Seems to me, buying a bigger house would solve that problem).

Oh my god. I think this video has just changed my life.

I'm not.

UllrsIshtar -> RE: How to fold a fitted sheet (3/7/2013 4:47:18 PM)

My mom taught me to do it slightly different than that.

She (and now I) only tuck opposite corners on the long side into each other (so 2+2, instead of all 4 into each other). Doing it that way squares off the sheet, which I can then fold the same as the top sheet.
It also makes for a nice crisp edge, of the sort you get on bath towels.

I find that if I tuck all 4 corners, the middle/inside of the fold tends to not be a 100% straight, which creates bumps. It also makes the fitted sheet be folded in a different pattern than the top sheet, which drives me nuts.

(And yes I know I'm WAAAAAAAAAY to anal about folding sheets... and other stuff...)

You need to get out more, Ishtar. *Much* more. ;-)

Lemme see if I can grasp this.....a video on how to properly fold one's sheets has changed your life.

(I clearly need to pay more attention).
