Wow, I get double duty out of a graphic. I'm actually astonished that any American would think there is anything like "justice" in the US. This is simply one of the ways that a two-level justice system is demonstrated.

We haven't had "justice" in over a century, what we have is "law". Law is defined by whomever has the most power, now it's the Democrats, in the future it won't be.

There. Fixed it for you.

NOW its the wealthy and the corporations?

When has it ever not been? You assume the problem is new, it has been the same since pharos and the ceasars........

This may be hard for you to understand so I'll type it really slowly...

I.... did.... not.... assume.... anything.... like.... that....

You.... however.... assumed.... something.... about.... me....

FunCouple5280 -> RE: Yes the US does have a two level Justice System (3/7/2013 1:58:03 PM)

You said NOW--- I capitalized if for a reason.

I say that because I alway hear people bitch like there were the good old days. What good old days? You have always had two choices, if you want power, grab a weapon and kill the establishment, or get rich yourself. Either way, the opressed end up the oppressor.

NOW it is the wealthy and corporations? When was it something else?

I assumed nothing, I read your statement

According to the story provided it is AG Holder deciding that banks are too big to prosecute, not AG Citicorp.

FR

Fine put a claim in holders hands agains tthe whole of the california judicial system, yes it is so grievious that it would wipe them out completely and holder wont prosecute it.

too big to prosecute. What that really means is that holder will get shot and he knows it.

Since early 2000 attorney Richard Fine has been fighting judicial abuse of power. In his campaign t to restore integrity to the Justice system, Dr. Fine has filed a First Amended Complaint in Federal Court (California Central District) Case No. 10-cv-0048 alleging the circumstances where California Judges illegally conspired against him at the behest of the State Bar officials, Los Angeles County government officials and lawyers for the developers who opposed him in the courtroom.

Richard Fine alleges that the officials named in his complaint have participated in unconstitutional acts and tactics, removing him from cases for the purpose of seeking favorable court decisions for themselves and the County that was paying them illegally. The four causes of action in his complaint are

Declare unconstitutional California’s Moral Turpitude Law that is abused and misused for illegal purposes.
Declare unconstitutional the State Bar practice of “Involuntary Inactive Enrollment” of Licensed Attorneys who are given no notice of actions against them.
Declare unconstitutional the Senate Bill SBX2 11 that gave retroactive criminal immunity to judges and government officials who were involved in the misappropriation of public funds and resulted in the illegal payment of $350 million to Superior Court Judges in L.A, County who never disclosed to the litigants in the court room that the payments were made to them by L.A. County, a party to litigation in cases before them.
To Declare and to enjoin the State Bar and all of the Defendants from taking any action against Richard Fine with respect to their having disbarred him based upon the fact that the Supreme Court Judges violated the law and engaged in corruption by having received illegal payments from L A County.

oh and its the same in EVERY state btw

the above is just the zit on the gnats wing sitting on the iceburg as to how big the problem really is

Yeah....and (this is fucking news)?

Real0ne -> RE: Yes the US does have a two level Justice System (3/7/2013 4:24:25 PM)

its definitely something that should be talked about news or not since it is at the core of the corruption and cancer this country is suffering from.

JeffBC -> RE: Yes the US does have a two level Justice System (3/7/2013 4:36:42 PM)

*sigh*. I tell you what. Perhaps someone else will educate you on the "fixed it for ypu" business. I'm gonna go with deliberately obtuse or argumentative.

Perhaps someday you'll read the TOS and understand it's against the rules to alter or change another poster's posting.

Because?

Sure...let's talk about it.....then let's talk about it some more and then, let's talk about it another time. I'll buy the beer.

How about we not talk about it, stop being civil and start taking our money out of the damn banks?

THAT's what they respect. Trust me...I borrow a lot of $$$$, and talking doesn't do shit.

Never has....never will.

They don't give a fuck about you...and as long as those with money (any of us, pennies or millions....pennies by the way, times 100 million....adds up) continue saying..."ehhhh....that sucks....that's really awful" but do nothing....well...you get....nothing.

I actually don't give a shit because it doesn't matter to me but, if you REALLY wanna make a gawdamned difference....make one.

DO something.

Talk is cheap.

Put it where it counts....out.

The split between the two levels is roughly where one has a lawyer(s) on staff and the other dosn`t...[:D]

>In what has become known as the “Geithner doctrine,” documented by numerous eyewitnesses to the administration’s deliberations on the financial crisis, the former Treasury chief consistently advocated preservation of the banks as the paramount objective in any measure. <

Geithner was not interested in moralizing or assigning blame, he was interested in preventing a banking failure and economic collapse. From my reading, he wanted to promote confidence in the banking system No. 1.

According to the author of After the Music Stopped a big failure of both the Bush and Obama administrations was not explaining to the American public what the government role in fixing the crisis was. The guy on the street still doesn't understand what TARP was/is.

Many can fault find with the Geithner plan, but I think in large measure he achieved his stated goal, and it was no small achievement.

Now that things have stabilized, it might be prudent to enforce some anti-trust lawsuits to break up the big banks such that we needn't worry about "Too Big to Fail" again. That's my simplistic take.

Your solution would work but it won't be used because it doesn't make the right people bundles of money or give them more power. And it doesn't take it away from the wrong people. Who the right and wrong people are depends on who you're in bed with.

Gosh... at least for me and for a whole lot of other people not only did he not promote confidence in the banking system but he rather thoroughly convinced me that the entire monetary system is rigged. He also convinced me the judicial system is rigged.

I think I understand what TARP was/is just fine. I think a lot of the other "guys on the street" get it just fine also. And we're enraged by it.
