What passes for news these days is sensationalism. Nothing does that as well as a BDSM story. Reporters get a whiff of BDSM and foul play and they are on it like no tomorrow. It is a sad comment on our times that news organizations need ratings in order to stay in business, and nothing brings in ratings better than sensationalism.
