Hello, my name is Katie. I'm very new to this, and when i say "new" i mean not only have i never tried bdsm, but i am a virgin. I've always fantasized that my first time would be something very similar to that of Anastasia Steele in "50 Shades of Grey." Though i hadn't read the book until recently I've always felt drawn to the idea.

The first time i thought i might be interested in more than vanilla was when a close, adult, friend of mine happened to be talking about the lifestyle. Also, the look of pure bliss on her face when her then boyfriend roughly grabbed the back of her head and hair, pulled her face back and held her for a second before kissing her? Well lets just say i was more than a little intrigued.

So, i may be new to, well, everything. But i do know i wouldn't exactly make a great sub, but i don't know how to be a dom, either. I'm here to learn, and to play so here i am. :)

Welcome, katie!

Welcome. Note that 50 Shades of Gray is just a fun little novel and not representative of the myriad aspects of BDSM.

Well...first thing read through here and get to know some of the subs. You are at a severe disadvantage because you have no relationship experience & BDSM is ultimately nothing more than a type of relationship. The 50 Shades thing concerns many because it is the equivalent of reading a fairy tale & deciding that you want Prince Charming. I am not saying don't learn...I am saying start with some non-fiction books & real people and find out what happens in real life situations. If you have a friend who is involved in a TPE, ask about the non-sex stuff in their world---the sex play is a small portion of the total relationship (even if you do nothing else in a day other than eat, sleep and have sex it comes to max 25% ).

Welcome katie.
Over here on Collarchat...if you continue to pop in, and read/post, you will soon realise there are a lot of people with a lot of knowledge.
Im sure many could answer questions (privately) and perhaps help point you in the right direction.
16 months ago I knew nothing....and from joining CM I have learnt something new nearly every day.
Good luck

Welcome, and listen to the above advice. Relationships are complex enough as it is. Think with your head first.
