First post here, Skipping the introductions, Going right to a question on my mind to see what kind of people are around here. Assuming fun ones, never been bored on a forum before.

We all are faced with the need, and or desire of looking good for that special partner if we have one, or staying sexy so when on the prowl we can pounce with the feral cunning of a puma, not flop with the blubbery gawkiness of a bloated manatee. But the over all way of doing this is different for everyone.

I myself am a bit on the blubbery bloated side and am wondering if i'm alone in this fact. And I want to see if its something anyone else has dealt with.

Aside from the poll, which is more or less a curiosity on my part, If you have any advice or tips on ways to trim down a little of the gut I have going on, I'd love it greatly if you would make them known.

Currently, I'm looking into a caloric intake based diet. I'm about 330Lbs, and personally I don't eat like I should and I am not active much either. And now at the request of both Doms and Subs in my life i'm looking to get into a better shape. While I still argue that round is a very sturdy shape, and is often the strongest in nature, they argue that while it has those redeeming qualities,... it is not exactly appealing on the human form.

So here I am looking to break out the old hammer and chisel to sculpt my way, or at least eat my way to a better me. I have the desire, now I want opinions. :3

Also: it was pointed out that I over sighted one of the most important facets of my own question! And for this i'm sorry. Body shape is a great and vast factor for some, but others are inclined to think its the small things that make a difference, and i am one such person. The right accessory can make or break a look, what sort of things do you do for your Dom/Sub that you feel are either important, or even symbolic? The collar is a very important accessory that holds both, symbolic, and useful applications. What kind of collar do you, or your subs have?

heh.. I like your screen name. Welcome to the forum.
[:)]

Great question for your doctor. What someone here would do is irrelevant to your specific health and medical needs. Your doc can hook you up with a nutrionist who can answer all your questions about what is the best way for 'you' to proceed with your new attitude and desire for the sort of life that goes along with it and let you know what's healthy and safe for you as far as physical exercise and what stress your body can handle at your current weight.

Good luck!

1. I am a great believer in having a healthy lifestyle, but it's not specifically for a partner. I eat well, hike, bike, and to the gym for pilates, yoga and weight lifting 5 days a week. It's simply part of my lifestyle. I don't keep bad foods in the house, but I don't deprive myself.

2. You trim down fat primarily through diet. 3,000 calories is a pound. If you eat 3,000 more calories than you burn off, you gain a pound. Eat 3,000 less calories than you burn off, lose a pound. The important thing is to maintain a healthy diet you can live with on an ongoing basis. There's no point in doing some strange diet than you are going to give up in two months and go back to your old eating patterns.

3. Exercise can help lose weight. But mostly it is about gaining muscle and toning. The amount of calories you burn through exercise is relatively small. While exercise is important, you won't lose weight unless you couple the exercise with a good diet.

Why is the poll based on body size only? Just to answer the question, I keep my nails manicured, keep my hair in a way that he likes and make sure it looks healthy, dress in clothing that he finds desirable, at times wear make up....edited to add---I do walk daily, we do eat healthy in our household---and although I am not underweight by any means he does constantly tells me I don't eat enough and most of the time fixes my plate for me.

While this is true, I don't exactly have the financial standing to make Dr. visits on a whim. unless I've lost a limb i'm likely going to try and walk it off as far as a doctor is concerned. I have done my own homework on the subject, and consult a few friends. Now i want to get a blind reading of some random people. :p i'm strange like that.

The caloric intake problem is that I already don't exactly stuff myself. I actually eat right at suggested caloric intake levels for my size and often don't even meet that. I think i myself am slave to something i hate.... genetic preconception. IE: I have fat genes. My metabolic rate is staggeringly low. It is for my entire family on both sides. This is something I've combat every step of the way. This is the first time I've tried a caloric based diet mind you, but many others have failed including weight watchers. However, I do think that if I have enough information and healthy tips I can beat this.

Sounds like you live a life I could envy. As for the poll, it was an unfortunate oversight. I hope more people understood I want more responses like yours as well. As such i'll be editing my main post to reflect my true question that got obscured by personal agenda.

As for your beautification rituals, I am often called a 'trophy pet' and carry a few of those in my service. A pet/sub to me is a living extension of the master. If they look good, the master looks good. Thus I admire your desire to look your best for your other. :)

PS: I know its going to be mentioned, at some point, that sex burns off 600+ calories an hour. I could stand to get laid but when your as fat as me its more or less impossible to get a partner. XD

theshytype -> RE: What do you do to stay looking good for your D/S partner(s)? (4/1/2013 4:34:22 PM)

I eat relatively healthy and exercise on a regular basis. I'm at a healthy weight for my height and body-type.

After the little ones, I had a bit of weight to lose and my diet prior to them wasn't all that great. I wanted to look good for my husband but it wasn't until a life event did I change my mentality and finally started shedding the excess. Once I started concentrating on my health as oppose to weight and choosing to cut out processed foods did it come off...and rather quickly. I added on exercising because I found I had more energy and the weight continued to fall off.
For me, it seemed small incremental life changes had the greatest effect.

So, I can't really say keeping the weight off is for him. He has more influence on how my hair looks or what clothes I wear.

Processed foods... *Scribbles stuff down on a note pad* Check. :p Thanks for the advice.

Also, I miss having longhair. Back in my submissive days before I went to work for, a place no one would believe if I mention it, I had long beautiful hair.... sadly i'm 22 and starting to resemble Friar Tuck. So resorted to shave it off so I looked like a punk rather than having long hair and nothing on the top of my head. ,_,

First, I'd suggest you get a consultation with a doctor or nutritionist and find out what the real facts are. I don't know what your genetic predisposition is, but if that is a factor, you should find out what it really is and what steps you need to take rather than guessing.

Lynnxz -> RE: What do you do to stay looking good for your D/S partner(s)? (4/1/2013 5:35:49 PM)

I feel better, physically and mentally when I'm in shape, eat well, and stay sharp.

I exercise frequently (even at work!) avoid the fast food (especially at work), make a habit of perusing medical journals that interest me, and tutor gen-chem students.

It's amazing how much better your sex life is when you don't feel like a ham planet, :P

Unfortunately, it's usually windy here so it's either in a pony tail or whipping around my face. But, he likes it long. I get my revenge when a fly-by hair sticks to him and tickles him. [:D]

NuevaVida -> RE: What do you do to stay looking good for your D/S partner(s)? (4/1/2013 6:01:58 PM)

I actually try to stay healthy and looking good for *me*, and he gets the benefit of it. [;)]

Well, OK, before I met him I did it for me (I wasn't on the prowl or even interested in a relationship) and now I do it for us.

I lost 95 pounds on weight watchers, by learning what is healthy to eat, what is surprisingly NOT healthy to eat, how little I really need to eat, and what triggers me to eat when I'm not hungry (boredom, emotions, feeling fidgety, etc).

I get my nails done, toes and fingers. I get my hair done. I learned how to put on make up. I found with my newly created body that I LOVE to shop, and I learned what clothes look good on me, and what clothes don't.

And most importantly, I keep my attitude positive. I believe that goes the farthest, in terms of being healthy and looking good.

Welcome to the forums!

You may want to have your doctor also refer you to an endocrinologist as well as the nutritionist. "Genetic" may actually turn out to be hormone imbalance, and usually comes with a range of other symptoms depending. At the very least a full panel test would be wise just in case.

One of the prior respondents mentioned cutting out processed foods. May not be a bad idea. Chemical sensitivity can play havoc with your system. If your budget can swing it, all natural diets have helped a good number of people. I usually feel a little ill a day or so after eating things with artificial flavors and a couple of artificial colors.

Regardless of the -ologists and all-natural foods, eating healthy is always a good place to start. There are numerous apps that help you measure and understand your food intake. My favorite is "MyFitnessPal" It is on Android and iPhone, and it will teach you how to properly eat. Just be honest with it. Hiding food from your log doesn't mean that it doesn't count. Extra food one day means you need to adjust that week.

Tips:
Don't weigh yourself more than once a week, if that.
Always weight at the same time of day. Weight changes over the course of a day.
Use a tape measure around waist, hips, chest, mid-thigh, and upper arm. Aim to measure at about the same places.
Don't worry about "weight" if you add exercise. Muscle weighs a lot more than fat does.
It is not about what you eat in any specific instance. Long-term weight is about long term eating habits.
If you let yourself resent what you are eating, and what you are doing, you will sabotage yourself. Every time you get grouchy about it, close your eyes, smile (physically smile, a real one) and remind yourself that your doing this for YOU, to be happier and healthier.

(Lots of good research has gone into the emotional part of physically smiling when you don't feel like it first. Turns out that "fake it till you make it" has a kernel of truth.)

If you need emotional help in coping with the changes your causing in your life, seek it out from someone who understands. I have personally found cognitive behavioral therapy to be extremely beneficial. There are many others, but I would vouch for that one. YMMV

I lost over 100 pounds cutting carbs. I built back by powerlifting 3 times a week.

Read Lyle McDonald, Alan Aragon, Jeff Volek, John Kiefer; they all fall in the general ballpark of what I do, though they do differ with one another at times.

Also: I do this for me, more than anyone else.

All Calories Are Not Created Equal

6|27|12

One of the challenges of arguing that hyperprocessed carbohydrates are largely responsible for the obesity pandemic (“epidemic” is no longer a strong enough word, say many experts) is the notion that “a calorie is a calorie.”

Accept that, and you buy into the contention that consuming 100 calories’ worth of sugar water (like Coke or Gatorade), white bread or French fries is the same as eating 100 calories of broccoli or beans. And Big Food — which has little interest in selling broccoli or beans — would have you believe that if you expend enough energy to work off those 100 calories, it simply doesn’t matter.

There’s an increasing body of evidence, however, that calories from highly processed carbohydrates like white flour (and of course sugar) provide calories that the body treats differently, spiking both blood sugar and insulin and causing us to retain fat instead of burning it off.

In other words, all calories are not alike.

Very true and thank you for posting that.

Weight Watchers no longer factors calories into their point system, for this very reason. Foods are measured based on fiber, fat, carbs and protein.

If you cannot afford check-ups, see your local social services agency to refer you to a community clinic. Check-ups at least once a year keep you aware of any potential health risks you may have, especially if certain disorders run in your family.

VexAndSilence -> RE: What do you do to stay looking good for your D/S partner(s)? (4/2/2013 2:27:11 PM)

Thanks everyone for the tips. Sadly i had to escort a few ladie friends around today, and when they offered Chinese Buffet,... well,... little piggy had his way and ate every kind of food he saw. ._. le~sigh Well,.... At least i cut almost 1000 calories yesterday. So if i eat very light the rest for the day i'm able to save it. I think... ><

I've taken what i know from Weight Watchers and am applying it to general foods but going off a caloric intake regiment more. Again, all other diets have caused me to gain in pounds, which is VERY discouraging. When i first started diets i was only 280. After weight watchers i was 300lbs,... after low carb diet, i was 310, after a 'perosnally developed diet' based off a list of foods i could eat and when to eat by a diet planner website (i forget which) i was at 330, and there i have stayed. I never gain but i never lose....

If i fail within the first 2 weeks of this diet to lose even a pound (2 weeks should be 5 pounds at 2.46 pounds a week) i'll pull in some favors and call a doctor I use to do some work for.

Again thanks to everyone for responding, and sorry to what ever Admin I made have to move this post. ^^;
