There goes one of the most principled, consistent and courageous politicians I've ever watched. Mad as a sack of cats as well, wrong about pretty much everything, and responsible for creating the economy we have to live with today, mind you.

Wrong...you can put all the sources out there you want.....at least the unions didnt offshore the money they got every week, the country never recovered.....notlike the useless twats that spawned yuppies and the money market management explosion, and they are still fucking things up today. and why the poverty levels are so high now.

I think the commitment to unilateral nuclear disarmament in the Labour manifesto might have had something to do with that. Plus the conveniently timed intervention in the Falklands.

WantsOfTheFlesh is spot on. I am guessing many of those posting here dont even remember what it was like in the UK prior to Thatcher. She did what needed doing to curb out of control far left unions who were intent on wrecking the country. Eveyone forgets New Labour, under Blair and Brown, privatised more jobs than Thatcher.
