JstAnotherSub -> Thoughts for Boston (4/15/2013 4:01:54 PM)

Perhaps this thread can be for offering prayers and good energy for the folks in Boston.

For the victims and the families of the victims, for the people who can not get in touch with loved ones and are terrified, and for all of us in this country who are a little bit sick and hugging loved ones a little bit tighter right now....

This threads for you.

The whole thing is very sad. Since it happened within the city, I do hope that the hotels, restaurants, stores and all the other establishments with landlines are allowing people to call their loved ones to let them know they are safe.

Aswad -> RE: Thoughts for Boston (4/15/2013 4:04:53 PM)

Hugs and well-wishes.

IWYW,

I hope so too LL. I am reminded of this saying, and I feel that folks will not disappoint.

My thoughts are definitely there.

TallullahHk -> RE: Thoughts for Boston (4/15/2013 4:14:49 PM)

I live in the city and work across the street from where the second blast occurred. All hotels in the immediate area are on lock down. Many many restaurants are offering meals, beverages and phone charging to anyone who needs it. The city is opening it's arms to those who need it.

I has sadly just been confirmed that 1 of the 2 fatalities was 8 years old.

That breaks my heart Tallullah. I know they reported that this is spring break for schools there, and that this is a huge family event that draws all ages.

I really do not understand the world we live in today.

Yes, it is spring vacation for Boston this week as well as being Patriots Day (most offices are closed). The marathon is a huge event that, typically, coincides with a Red Sox game. It's a day that the city celebrates with great pride.

The Marathon is not just a city event: people come from all over the country and all over the world.

I did hear that over some of the people in the city of Boston have offered hospitality in their homes.

My thoughts are with those who have been injured and traumatised,

Lucylastic -> RE: Thoughts for Boston (4/15/2013 4:33:46 PM)

6 children are being treated for injuries at Children's hospital. Ages - 14 10 12 7 12 2

124 are being treated at hospitals all over the city. I think they are in the best possible city to treat these traumatic injuries.

Thoughts and prayers go out to all. I agree .. they are in one of the best cities in the world to have first class medical facilities and professionals.

I'm utterly gutted. The 8 year old who died played on the little league team I support. His mother and sister are seriously injured. This is so devastating. Dear, sweet, rambunctious, silly Martin will be dearly missed.[:(]

msj2u -> RE: Thoughts for Boston (4/15/2013 10:52:30 PM)

My prayers go out to all and I have lit a candle tonight.
