My job involves a mix of editorial work and project management.

Everyone--boss, colleagues, me--agrees that I rock at the former. The magazine I edit looks and reads better than it ever has in its 40-year history (he says modestly).

But . . .

I'm not as adept at the project/time management facet of my work, and I'm tired of running late and feeling overwhelmed. Anyone have any favorite books, DVDs, or other resources you can recommend as I bolster this part of my skill set?

Many thanks!

Were you looking for ways to keep all of you on task, or just you?

I am a Project Manager. During my time at the company, we have tested and discarded many project management software. We are currently using Jira. Checklists have also proven invaluable to me. For really time sensitive issues I use Outlook calendar, but don't overload this as it will then become meaningless.

If you need help figuring it out, let me know.

They provide good directions but it took me awhile to sort them.
