ORIGINAL: shiftyw You probably know some of this...but definitely make the thyroid a priority. My mom had numbness in her arms and hands for ever, plus all sorts of other strange symptoms (i.e. hives, weird mood swings, etc)! Turns out her nodules on her thyroid that her terrible dr. never followed up on were thyroid cancer (she has recovered). My own thyroid issues came to light and thats when she got tested for it. Mine are still unclear. Make sure they test for thyroid antibodies, T4 and T3, not just TSH when they check out your thyroid. Thanks, and yea, I know most of it. Been dealing with thyroid issues for a good many years, although no one ever seems to want to put me on meds for it. Now because of the nodule, no meds since it could do more harm than good. Have to find and endocrinologist that actually takes my insurance (which is proving near impossible). Due to get more blood work again, including all the different thyroid levels. My normal quarterly blood work tends to be about 6 vials, lol. Glad to hear your mom is in remission.
