Works out well that you left then, doesn't it?

Sort of. Fleeing US policy and control is not exactly easy. Ask Snowden. But I'm the first to admit this is a strange world I've been living in these last few years where the US government looks and behaves more like my enemy than anything even remotely approaching "my friend". What makes it wierder is that it's not a red/blue thing. I see both the teams as pretty much the same.

That's one of the advantages to what I'm suggesting. Since we would have all been participants in the process and procedures at one point, it helps remove the us/them outlook towards government, as well as creating a better informed and experienced electorate.

If we wanted to do that, I might suggest something which actaully educated people about how the government works. But how are you going to do that exactly? Who is going to say, "Well then the bankers come and pay the regulators to...."? If you just want to indoctrinate people in state propoganda then fine. If you want to educate them on how the system works then you're going to need to find a way to expose them to how the system actually works.

I totally agree with everything you have said, except for one part.. few people leave/flee the US as Snowden did.. his passport was revoked making travel impossible, in addition to the US having extradition orders/requests for any possible country Snowden's plane might travel thru.. Few people flee the US in that way, which makes it a lot easier for them to first get a second citizenship & 2nd passport & then have the option to revoke their US citizenship.. Compared to Snowden's obstacles, most people have it easy leaving the US behind..

An aside.. Tina Turner has lived in Switzerland/Europe for almost 20 years now, she is 73 now, she just married her love of 27 years a few weeks ago (he is 18 years younger than her).. this year she became a Swiss citizen and voluntarily gave up/revoked her US citizenship.. She seems to be very happy living and staying there for the rest of her life.. [:)]

Correct. Record numbers of people left the us this year for tax liability issues, estate planning, and due to regulatory burden. The trend is expected to worsen.

estate planning, and due to regulatory burden.

Which particular reagulatory burden? The one that requires employers to provide bathroom facilities?
The one that requires stairs to have hand rails?
